Whisper it quietly, but Hampshire are making a game of this - Leicestershire are six down, needing 98 to win, at an increasingly high run rate. Just as long as Tom doesn't suggest that we've got a chance...
Required-rate isn't anything scary. But six down means that Leicester can't afford to take too many risks. In the balance. Maybe slightly in our favour.
Completely agree, but all the time Leicestershire are risk-averse, their required rate inches upwards. Until they hit sixes...
Damn it, we ought to be beating Leics however much they've improved recently. Now they're becoming our bogey side having been county cricket's whipping boys for years. I didn't follow it that closely due to having to pay for the live stream but get the sense we should have got about 20 more runs and, of course, the no-balls and dropped catch didn't exactly help.
Awful score. I wouldn't be surprised if it's about 30 light. Those two 6s from Jordan have at least shifted a little momentum our way. And with our attack, if they bowl very well they can defend almost anything. But the fact that we only lost two wickets in our first 73 balls is pretty good evidence that it's not a bad pitch. We set a platform to get to 150. The problem is that we seemingly forgot that Phoenix have excellent bowlers of their own. We were never going to be able to take them down sufficiently in those last 25 balls to get to that 150.
Held his nerve fantastically. But that was his 4th or 5th front-foot no-ball of the 100. Criminal for a spinner to even bowl one.
