Can only think it was a lapse of concentration after getting his 50 just before, as the ball did nothing. Oh well, Stokes and Bairstow aren't mugs.Root gone for 50
On the bbc this morning , they said the average score at the end of day 1 at the newlands , was 272-7 .
They went on to say England would be thinking about 300 -3 !

Apparently winners at this ground are the ones who bowl first....however, they think England chose to bat because the pitch is cracking up.
Stokes in particular is in a hurry this morning. 45 runs from the first 4 overs of the day! The 150 partnership between Stokes and Bairstow comes up in 148 balls.
Isn't it funny how a sport can change? One minute best team in the world, the next minute being destroyed.
