Glamorgan in trouble. That flew off a length and hit Adams in the head. Points deduction coming for them.

Unless there is the possibility within the laws to award us two win points retrospectively, which I'm not aware there is, then the umpires should let the game continue until 10 overs (assuming we are happy to do so), but possibly forcing Glamorgan not to bowl their seamers until then. And then call it off right on 10 overs.

Glamorgan have to get more than 2 points deducted for this. The pitch is a joke.

I'm not going to go and study the rules, but given this is two years in a row for them - and even worse, they couldn't even complete this match - then I wouldn't be surprised if the ECB have the power to penalise them more heavily.

The stupid thing is that any penalty they get will almost certainly apply next season, not this season. So they remain very much in the frame for a top four finish.

I only hope that the ECB find a way to award us two points, not one. But I can't see it. As I say, I'm not aware of a rule that allows them to.

So Glamorgan refused to take Hogan off. Makes me hope that they throw the book at Glamorgan even more.

Simon Walter from the Daily Echo is reporting that the ECB will announce tomorrow the points outcome.

That's pants

I agree it is, but it is pretty difficult for the ECB to do something outside of laid down competition rules, and No Result means 1 point each. Although we were in a good position to win that game, it was far from certain that we would have done so with so many overs left. Still tough on Hants not to have the chance to go for it though.

ECB announced that they've referred the matter to their disciplinary commission, and that the final outcome will be announced next week. Suggests to me that they're thinking of a harsher punishment for Glamorgan than just -2.

Yet another stupid run out today. But at least the runs are coming, and we've finally dropped Gatting. Four spinners though, I hope it turns!

So far, so good. Patel seems to be getting assistance from the surface. Obviously doesn't help us for the next 30+ overs, but good signs for when we come to bowl. Score of 250 might be defendable, even with the quick outfield.

I confident that 280 that is a good score. But I'm not quite confident enough to say that I think it's a match winning score.

Two 100 partnerships in two days from Dawson and Smith. Great, sensible pairing. The fact that we were picking Gatting ahead of Smith for the first few games was just laughable (as is the fact that we're still loaning Dawson out for t20, whilst picking Gatting).

We don't need Dawson for T20. We've got Smith, Briggs and Crane as spinners and Shah as batsman.
