Winning the toss was crucial in this test. Then posting a big first innings score has put the Aussies in the box seat. A poor 20 min period of play by our batters have pushed England to the brink but it must be said that the Aussies bowled superbly in that spell. A deciding day in this test tomorrow, if we get bowled out cheaply then dont matter what the weather does on Sunday !
 
You've been pretty awful all season Arafat, but finally your death bowling turns up when we needed it most. By the skin of our teeth we win the game and take the battle for qualification into the last final week.
 
Phew! As in Sussex got too phew runs! Boy that was close, well done Wood, Gatting, Briggs and of cource Vince. The new kid did his bit too.
 
Dawson recalled from his loan spell with Essex already. That almost certainly means he'll be playing in our four day match starting Sunday (probably in place of Terry). He might even then play in our final t20 match.

Very odd ! Dawson was one of our good young prospects, but this season has been very strange for HCC with so many decent players out of form at the same time. I didnt expect us to find it easy in Div 1 but its been a major step backwards in both forms of the game up til now.
 
Jimmy resigns as four day captain with immediate effect. Vince to take over on an interim basis, although it sounds like the door is open for Jimmy to return if he rediscovers his batting form and wishes to return to being captain.

Shame for Jimmy, been a good player fro Hants over a longish period so hope he can regain his form and get back in. At least between them they seem to be trying to do something about the situation. Trouble is its not just Jimmy who has been out of nick this summer !
