NGC 884 is an open cluster located 7600 light years away in the constellation of Perseus. The cluster is most likely around 12.5 million years old and is a favorite of amateur astronomers as they can be observed with small telescopes and are visible with the unaided eye between the constellations of Perseus and Cassiopeia as a brighter patch in the winter Milky Way.

885 - The 885 series is an AC electric multiple unit type operated on limited express services by Kyushu Railway Company (JR Kyushu) in Japan

886 - In this year, Alfred the Great captures London and renames it Lundenburgh. Slightly upstream from London Bridge he builds a small harbour called Queenhythe. Control of London is given to Earl Aethelred who marries Alfred's daughter Ethelfleda.

888 - The year Charles the Fat died. The Frankish kingdom is split (again), this time permanently. Odo, Count of Paris becomes King of the Western Franks. On Star Trek Odo means "no name" (just thought I'd add that snippet).

889 - The Electric Mobility Rascal 889 Mobility Scooter is a fully road legal Class 3, 8mph 4 wheeled model and has a massive range of up to 38 miles.

I'm gonna get me one of those! I live in a very hilly area - bet I could get more than 8mph out of it :cheesy:

890 - and back on the subject of Alfred the Great in the year 890 the Welsh king Anarawd, King of Gwynedd, makes the first ceremonial visit to an English court (that of Alfred the Great).

Lot 66 - 891 Lunar Deed for 1 acre of the moon between latitude 20 deg N and Longitude 30 deg W - owned by 3rd eye.

If NASA or anyone else wants to build a moon base on that spot I can claim rent (according to the Big Cheese).

In 891 Pope Formosus was elected. Later his dead body would be put on trial in the "Cadaver Synod"

896 - in April Pope Boniface VI succeeds Pope Formosus as the 112th pope then in May Pope Stephen VI succeeds Pope Boniface VI as the 113th pope.

897 was a busy year in the ecclesiastical world. January – The Cadaver Synod is held, the body of Formosus was exhumed and put on trial (he was found guilty). In August Pope Steven was strangled and succeeded by Pope Romanus the 114th pope. In November Pope Romanus is deposed. In December Pope Theodore II succeeds Pope Romanus as the 115th pope, but dies twenty days later.

AD896: Bioniface VI was elected Pope. He died 15 days later making his the second shortest Papal term of office in history. He was replaced by Stephen Vi, who lasted less than a year. To lose one pope so quickly is unfortunate, to lose two ...

898 - King Odo of West Francia dies, and is succeeded by his rival claimant to the throne, Charles the Simple.

AD897: Romanus elected Pope - he only lasted 3 months and was followed by Theodore II who lasted less than a year. You can see where the Italians get their penchence for frequent elections from.
