As a lapsed Catholic, I am appalled.

909 - Ethelwold, Bishop of Winchester, might have been born this year. Ethelwold became the leader of the Monastic Reform movement after it had been ravaged by those darn Vikings! He was also a leading political figure, backing Ethelred the Unready against Edward the Martyr (don't you just love these names).
