The ÃBB Class 1043 is a class of thyristor-controlled universal electric locomotives operated initially by the Austrian Federal Railways (ÃBB). The class was derived from the Class Rc of the Statens Järnvägar (SJ) of Sweden.
The first three members of the class entered service with the ÃBB in 1971, and the remaining seven followed later. One member of the class was subsequently withdrawn from service, due to irreparable accident damage. The other nine units were sold in 2001 to the Swedish company TÃ¥gÃ¥keriet i Bergslagen AB (Tà GAB), and returned to Sweden.
I am told I was born in some sort of nursing home back from the fun fair that used to be on the esplanade - my father was an RSM in the Royal Marines but am only as good as what I was told as I was adopted out at 6 months old - weather springlike ? spoke to my brother in NewMalden yesterday he said the last couple of days have been splendid...

Fantastic day today, infact an excellent weekend weather wise. Today warm and sunny, and not a drop of that wet stuff for about 4 days.

Mars One announced Monday (Dec. 30) that it has picked 1,058 aspiring spaceflyers to move on to the next round in its search for the first humans to live and die on the Red Planet.
The Netherlands-based nonprofit wants to start launching groups of four on one-way trips to Mars by 2023, with the long-term goal of creating the first permanent settlement on Mars. More than 200,000 people applied for a spot on Mars One's list of future colonists by the time the initial application window closed on Aug. 31. The only requirement to apply was to be over age 18. Those who get to move on to the next, more rigorous selection phase were notified by email.
What a bunch of nutters ! Living up there with presumably only Mars Bars to eat........
