EN 1078, entitled Helmets for pedal cyclists and for users of skateboards and roller skates, is a European standard published in 1997. It is the basis of the identical British Standard BS EN 1078:1997.[1] Compliance with this standard is one way of complying with the requirements of the European Personal Protective Equipment Directive (PPE; 89/686/EEC).[1] EN 1078 specifies requirements and test methods for bicycle helmets, skateboard and roller skate helmets. It covers helmet construction including field of vision, shock absorbing properties, retention system properties including chin strap and fastening devices, as well as marking and information.[2]
1080p (aka Full HD/ FHD and BT.709) is a set of HDTV high-definition video modes characterized by 1080 horizontal lines of vertical resolution[1] and progressive scan, as opposed to interlaced, as is the case with the 1080i display standard. The term usually assumes a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9, implying a resolution of 1920x1080 (2.1 megapixel) often marketed as Full HD. The choice of 1080 lines originates with Charles Poynton, who in the early 1990s pushed for "square pixels" to be used in HD video formats.[2]

YEAST STRAIN: 1084 | Irish Ale™ This versatile yeast ferments extremely well in dark worts. It is a good choice for most high gravity beers. Beers fermented in the lower temperature range produce a dry, crisp profile with subtle fruitiness. Fruit and complex esters will increase when fermentation temperatures are above 64°F (18°C). Evening Woopert - I see it was 18 degrees and clear in Londinium today might be time to dust off the deckchairs and dig out the "kiss me quick" hat

NGC 1087 is an intermediate spiral galaxy in Cetus. The central bar/core is very small with many irregular features in the surrounding disk of material. With the many strange features of NGC 1087, its true nature is still uncertain. It has an extremely small nucleus and a very short stellar bar. Unlike most barred galaxies, the bar apparently has some new star-formation taking place. There is a multiple spiral structure defined more by the dust lanes than by luminous matter. Overall, the disc has a very low surface brightness. Even though it appears close to another galaxy (NGC 1090), these two galaxies are not interacting and should be considered isolated from one another. NCG 1087 lies near the small M77 (NGC 1068) galaxy group that also includes NGC 936, NGC 1055, and NGC 1090. However, because of its distance, it probably is not an actual group member. Based on the published red shift, (Hubble Constant of 62 km/s per Mpc) a rough distance estimate for NGC 1087 is 80 million light-years, with a diameter of about 86,800 light-years.

Rotaract District 1090 falls within an area which can be loosely described as the Thames Valley. It covers the counties of Berkshire and Oxfordshire, and also takes in South Buckinghamshire, and the North-Western Part of Middlesex. The River Thames bisects our District, flowing from west to east, and passes through historic towns such as Oxford, Henley, Marlow and Windsor. Other major towns in our District include Reading, Slough, High Wycombe, Newbury, Banbury and Maidenhead. At present there are 8 Rotaract Clubs in our district, including West Berkshire, Caversham & Reading, Maidenhead, Langley & Iver, High Wycombe, Burnham, Bourne End & Cookham and Wallingford. The London Tornado of 1091 is reckoned by modern assessment of the reports as possibly a T8 tornado (roughly equal to an F4 tornado) which occurred in London, England. Britain's earliest reported tornado, it occurred on Friday, 17 October 1091, killing two. The wooden London Bridge was demolished, and the church of St. Mary-le-Bow in the city of London was badly damaged; four rafters 26 feet (7.9 m) long were driven into the ground with such force that only 4 feet (1.2 m) protruded above the surface. Other churches in the area were demolished, as were over 600 (mostly wooden) houses. At the turn of the millennium, London was a city far smaller than it is now. In the year 140AD there were about 45-60,000 inhabitants of Londinium. The city size rapidly depopulated with the fall of the Empire and by 300CAD there were only 10-20,000 residents. By the beginning of the second millennium, the population had dwindled to only 5-10,000 but it was picking back up. With the destruction of the Cnut dynasty in 1042, English rule came under Edward the Confessor and the foundation of Westminster Abbey is credited to him. By the end of the century there were probably about 18,000 inhabitants to bear witness to the gigantic twister as it tore apart their city. It is remarkable to note that for all the damage inflicted, the tornado claimed just two victims. Evening anti. I despair sometimes about PFC. Will we stay up ? Goodness knows, I have no idea, only hope..

Engine 1095, also known as ‘The Spirit of Sir John A.' has provided a favourite photo op for tourists visiting Confederation Park for more than 40 years. It is a reminder that Confederation Park was once an active train yard, that the Visitor Information Centre was once the K&P Railway station and that Kingston was once home to the Canadian Locomotive Company for over 100 years. That company built more than 3,000 steam, electric and diesel engines for the Canadian Pacific Railway, including ‘The Spirit of Sir John A.'.
