Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn Works No 7170
This locomotive was built in 1944, to a Hunslet Engine Company design, by Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn for the Ministry of Defence.
It was delivered to the Ministry of Fuel & Power who based it at East Cramlington in Northumberland.
In 1947 the locomotive was sold to the National Coal Board (NCB) to work in Northumberland.

TY2-7173 stands at Wansford NVR 10-04-1993
Ex-Polish State Railway (PKP) 'Kriegslok' 2-10-0 TY2-7173 (originally DRB 52 7173) waits to depart from Wansford station, Nene Valley Railway, with a train for Yarwell Mill, composed mostly of Belgian and Danish rolling stock.
 
CEP 7178 is now arriving at Platform 2 at Tonbridge with a Ramsgate to Charing Cross train as a Boat Train with MLV 68010 on the rear accelerates away towards Folkestone Harbour or Dover Marine on Wednesday 27 December 1978
