Accident
Date
February 12, 2009 (2009-02-12)
Summary Stalled during landing approach; crashed into house

Colgan Air Flight 3407, marketed as Continental Connection under a codeshare agreement with Continental Airlines, was a scheduled passenger flight from Newark, New Jersey, to Buffalo, New York, which crashed on February 12, 2009.
The aircraft, a Bombardier Dash-8 Q400, entered an aerodynamic stall from which it did not recover and crashed into a house in Clarence Center, New York at 10:17 p.m. EST (03:17 UTC), killing all 49 passengers and crew on board, as well as one person inside the house.

The National Transportation Safety Board conducted the accident investigation and published a final report on February 2, 2010, which found the probable cause to be the pilots' inappropriate response to the stall warnings.
As of 2018, Flight 3407 is the most recent aviation incident resulting in mass casualties involving a U.S.-based airline.

Families of the accident victims lobbied the U.S. Congress to enact more stringent regulations for regional carriers, and to improve the scrutiny of safe operating procedures and the working conditions of pilots.
Although it did nothing to address the specific causes of the crash – improper stall recovery technique and pilot fatigue – the Airline Safety and Federal Aviation Administrative Extension Act of 2010 (Public Law 111-216) required some of these regulation changes

Corning 3419 Permeable Supports, 100mmDish/0.4um; 12/Cs

Available in three membrane materials and three pore sizes, these permeable supports satisfy your diverse cell culture requirements. A suspended design prevents media wicking between the insert and the plate well. It also allows for co-culturing without damaging cells attached to the plate's growth surface. Openings in the insert wall permit pipet access to the plate well.
Choose either a polycarbonate (PC), polyester, or PTFE collagen-coated membrane. PC and polyester membranes are cell culture treated for optimal cell attachment. PC membranes are compatible with most organic fixatives and stains. Transparent polyester membranes provide excellent cell visibility, assessment of cell viability, and monolayer formation using phase contrast microscopy.
PTFE collagen-coated membranes are biologically stable and provide a consistent matrix that retains the membrane's porosity. The collagen coating promotes cell attachment and spreading, and allows cells to be viewed while being cultured.
Supports some sterile and preloaded in Cluster plates or dishes.

Warning: This product is not approved or intended for, and should not be used for medical, clinical, surgical or other patient oriented applications.

picoscope 3424 and drivers
  • I am considering the 3424 in an application where I would I would like to measure 4 waveforms simultaneously, with each requiring 12 bit resolution and a bandwidth of 50kHz. probably at a repetition rate of <1KHz.

It is important that all channels are updated at the same time. Is this the case for the 3424.

Additionally I will be using Agilent VEE, version 7.0, with regard to this do you supply appropriate drivers with the scope for VEE.

    Cheers

    David

      David,

For your application the PS3424 would work extremely well. The specifications for this unit fall well within what you are trying to do. All channels will be updated at the same time like you need. We provide VEE examples for almost all of our products. Simply download the software and follow the steps outlined at http://www.picotech.com/drivers.html to install the examples for the PS3424 to view what is available. Thanks for your interests David and if you have any questions after receiving your scope feel free to post them here.

      Regards,

      Richard Boyd

3425 Hurukawa

3425 Hurukawa, provisional designation 1929 BD, is a stony Eoan asteroid from the outer region of the asteroid belt, approximately 25 kilometers in diameter. It was discovered by German astronomer Karl Reinmuth at Heidelberg Observatory on 29 January 1929, and named after Japanese astronomer Kiichirō Furukawa.

Hurukawa is a member of the Eos family (606), the largest asteroid family in the outer main belt consisting of nearly 10,000 asteroids.. It orbits the Sun at a distance of 2.7–3.3 AU once every 5 years and 2 months (1,898 days). Its orbit has an eccentricity of 0.08 and an inclination of 9° with respect to the ecliptic. In 1903, a first precovery was taken at the discovering observatory, extending the asteroid's observation arc by 26 years prior to its official discovery.
