My grandson got a letter from Santa yesterday, it said that more children had moved from the naughty to good list this year, so the elves were having trouble getting enough toys made. He was contacting some of the children who'd been extra good, to see if they could help them out and he'd been chosen. It said he needed to get to Lapland immediately, where the elves would be waiting to take him through the enchanted forest to his secret toy factory.

He leaves in about a hour and is about as excited as it's possible for any child to be.

Didn't have stuff like this when we were kids did they?

What child labour? Thought it was banned now, except for in China of course.

Only joking I'm sure he will have a fantastic time.

Great story, best we got was queuing up to see some fat bloke dressed up on the top floor of Hammonds.

I always had way too many questions about how Father Christmas could be in Hammonds, British Home Stores and Debenhams all at the same time. And more to the point why he looked different in each...

Do they still have Father Christmas in department stores?

They don't even have department stores...

My Mrs wants to take them to see all these different Santas doing different things, and i try and minimise it for this reason. they never look anything like the same despite it being a pretty well established basic costume... my daughter
is quite bright and i worry it will become obvious sooner then i would like... i just say hes on a tour like Taylor Swift and we are seeing him on the Brigg leg of it....ha

Luxury. We were lucky to get a baking spud ! An apple or an orange and we'd be in heaven. :emoticon-0100-smile

I just got a video of my grandson meeting Santa, he told him he'd been very impressed with how good he'd been this year and that's why he'd been invited to Lapland. Then he told him he was particularly impressed that he got 24 out of 25 in last week's school maths test and fully deserved the award he got from the Headmistress. Then he gave him a toy dog and said 'I hope you like it, even if it's not quite as cool as your dog Poppy'. He was absolutely blown away and I think I got something in my eye...
