....... who became an even worse manager. Talking of all time England greats, we could put Tony Hately in there. Might as well throw in Tony Curtis, Tony Blair and Tony Hancock
If Plymouth beat Newport tonight (winning 2-1 with just over 20 mins left) and we beat Newport on Saturday then, looking at Newport's remaining games, they will, all of a sudden, be feeling a little uncomfortable.
remarkable from Chelsea - they somehow seem to find a way and I wouldn't put it past them to win the thing.... looking forward to tonight, I cant see man united getting a win but you never know in football!
Watched the Man U game until Robben got the 3rd. Man U simply not good enough when BM changed gear after Man U's goal. This summer will be Moyes' last chance. He wasted the last chunk of money he was given and he'll be lucky to attract the players needed to lift them back up next season. Not sure where they go from here.
man united will have a few year lull now. they will always manage to attract good players as they are man united and will pay good wages, but to challenge from trophys they are a long way off. moyes has got to keep hold of the better players and shift much of the dead wood (vidic, Ferdinand, young, nani etc) and all this with man united fans abusing him and wanting him out. Hope they keep hold of him for as long as possible now, david moyes is a football genius
Don't know if Moyes is a football genius but it took a lot of b***s to go in after Ferguson anybody taking the job was on a hiding to nothing (apart from the pay off)
I reckon Fergi saw the decline coming. The first thing Moyes did was to buy Felaney from his ex club, fail to buy Baines from his ex club, and then buy a Chelsea reject. Hardly a good start, regardless of the results. If he couldn't attract the right players then, how will he attract the right players when they won't be in the Champions league? It's interesting that, having left Everton for Man U, Everton are 6 points ahead with a game in hand. Could be argued that whoever is managing Everton now is doing a better job than Moyes did.
All kick offs across the country this weekend will be delayed 7 mins. It's a Hillsborough disaster tribute. It's the 25th anniversary of the game, which was abandoned in the 7th minute.
it certainly took some guts, and no doubt about it fergie knew the decline was coming. Rumour was he would have retired in 2012 if city hadn't have pipped them to the title. However moyes will turn man united around eventually, it all depends how much time he is given. is moyes a football genius? yes, because as a neutral fan it is superb to see man united struggling occasionally and their fans having to "suffer" like the rest of us!
The only way he can turn Man U round longer term is to have the ability to spot future stars and attract them to the club and build a team for the future. He will not be able to attract top stars that can turn things round. He might even lose Van Persie. How could he justify buying a Chelsea reject? And I doubt many Man U fans thank him for buying Felaney. Good luck to him but as far as I can see he has started off on the wrong foot and is lucky to still be there.
