For those of you who remember the early days of the nest and the bear in the cellar I was in Akureyri last Monday. Beautiful place! Spent the morning swimming in hot springs at Myvatin then a walk round the town.

Morning all. Warm, but a bit of cloud about. Returned from the blood suckers again to see if Mme has more salt in her system yet. There are only so many packets of salted crisps you can eat. After the concert at the Vic last night, I have been trying to think of any other club that has such a two way relationship between a superstar and the fans. Haven't come up with any so far. Any suggestions? Have a good day everyone. 
I think I have (whisper) the "BUG" or it is some heavy man flu. Got someone coming round to test me later. GRIM either way I feel ****ed.
I've had it for nearly four weeks now - it has really knocked me around and still is - am single-handedly keeping Kleenex in business. My dog is beginning to think I don't like her anymore as I don't have the energy to play with her in the garden, let alone go for walks.
I'm not sure how often you're supposed to test for Covid, but I've done it three times in the last month - all returned positive. After self-isolating for the first five days, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do next. Can't keep self-isolating, but not doing so just risks spreading it to others - and because I'm still positive my GP won't see me. At least the probable source has now gone - today being the first day of seven weeks school holidays.
The audiology department that my daughter works for should have fourteen staff. Six of them are currently at home, and my daughter who tests twice a week is the only one without a positive test at some point. The message has gone out from the government that masks are no longer required in hospitals, and my daughter is absolutely steaming. She sees a lot of elderly people at her clinic, and continues to wear a mask the whole time she is at work, or goes shopping. The number of people off work is throwing additional patients who must be seen onto those remaining, so she starts earlier and finishes later. Lengthen the period of time between visits and she then has to spend longer with some of them, defeating the object.

Morning all. Lovely sunny day and a lot to try and do. It seems that things I installed twenty years ago are beginning to feel their age. It would be easy to change them for something new, but repair is my first thought and if possible that is the route I will go down. Today a rail that carries our downstairs shower curtain is in need of some attention as after Mme gets home with her new hip I doubt she will make it up the stairs for a little while. Then there is a seeping plumbing joint. Not enough for a drip, but do I leave it see if it seals itself, or take it apart and redo it? Then the grass along the green lane needs cutting if I do not want to get wet feet with the morning dew. Might have to stay in and watch the Tour this afternoon if it gets too warm for gardening, but we will see. Have a good day everyone.
Morning all. Lovely day again with a top temperature of 28°C in the shade expected. There are a lot of bees and other insects around going from flower to flower, so the sooner my beans get some the more likely I am to have fresh beans for my dinner. One of my daughters has already picked a lot of her peas, but they don't all get to the pot as she enjoys eating them raw straight off the plant. Despite the wonderful selection of locally grown vegetables in the supermarket, they are not quite as fresh as ones you can grow if you have the space and the energy. Have a good day everyone.
Morning all. A beautiful sunny morning in rural France. The grass cutter was the first vehicle to pass by today, but didn't have much to do inside the confines of the hamlet. It has been interesting to read the French news reports about the unfolding drama in Westminster. Straight down the line of factual reporting without any political commentary. It will be even more interesting to read what they consider to be the merits of the candidates now that Johnson is going. Have a good day everyone.

I've never quite understood why but feeding birds of all types, bar gulls, is an activity I've always enjoyed as an adult. Maybe because I had never had the opportunity as a child?

Morning all. Warm and sunny here today, and quiet again now since the combined harvester left the field behind mine. It arrived around 7.00 pm last night, and was working until after dark. Every now and then a tractor and trailer went past the house, carrying the grain to the store. Sometimes it is put into the dryer if slightly damp, but no sound from that this time. One man can now cut acres on his own, where at one time whole families were called into action, one of the reasons that schools have long summer holidays here. Have a good day everyone.
