Morning all. Cloudy and raining with the forecast saying that it will stay like this all day. The runner beans are loving it. I had a healthy rebate from the electricity company this week as they had over estimated what had been used. Nice of them to pay it back into the bank account rather than hang onto it, and set it against future bills. It means I can get a little interest on the money rather than them. Have a good day everyone.
Morning all. Very quiet in rural France today, no one is doing much at the farm. More rain is expected this afternoon and it has hardly dried up from yesterday. I doubt that I will stray far from home. Hope it stays dry for the cricket as I can listen to that. It is summer after all. Have a good day everyone.
Rammstein day today. Currently in Nuneaton... Off to the museum for a bit of culture, then pub then ROCK!!!
A little quieter here in the wet and aptly named Windermere where Mme has just completed her wild water swimming .... an xmas present from her son which she will not want repeated....awful conditions and after 45 minutes she gave up...... cold and wet...
You know there's gigs, then there's concerts... then there's Rammstein. It's like the Stones in their 70's pomp; Freddie in his mind 80's glory, Pink Floyd in their absolute glory years. Rolled into one. And then some. Just sayin'
Morning all. Bright and warming up again after a couple of wet miserable days. It seems that the club is listening to the fans now that the game against Qatar has been cancelled. Probably not a difficult one for them to decide, but good for the image of a family club. Have a good day everyone.
Morning all. A lovely sunny day with just a few white fluffy clouds high in the sky. There are a lot of fields around here given over to growing sunflowers this year instead of maize. Although used as cattle feed quite often I suspect that this year a lot will be turned into sunflower oil for cooking. With the shortage, supermarkets are still asking you to only buy one bottle, there should be a good return for the farmers. A field of flowers is also something to brighten your day, as well as attracting the bees. Have a good day everyone.
Morning all. A lovely morning again, not so hot that you cannot work outside, but you do need a hat to protect the reduced natural cover to the scalp. I see that the UK is lifting the restrictions on importing mushrooms from Fukushima. So no more testing for radioactive materials unlike the USA or EU. All in the name of trade it seems. Glad to say that the green lane I walk along to the fields has a decent supply of them. Have a good day everyone.
Morning all. Wet one today, but perking up tomorrow as the holiday makers head for the coast. Not all of the French people I know head for the beaches, some prefer to spend their time walking in the hills and mountains. In the days when I would holiday here, we would split our time between a spot of swimming on the Med. and discovering places and countryside. To sit high up in the mountains watching eagles soar above you is very special. Have a good day everyone.
Morning all. Sunny spells, but dry and warmer. Today sees the start of the greatest spectator event in the world, the Tour de France. It is unusual for it to start on a Friday, but this is so that Monday is kept free to transport the whole race from Denmark back into France. The race is not coming anywhere near here this time, so will watch on TV and remember the fun of being in the crowd as the caravan comes through an hour before the riders. No doubt that the staff in Le Clerc will all have their Tour shirts on. Have a good day everyone.
Morning all. Clear blue sky, no breeze and a temperature of 28°C, so not at all bad. The first job of the day is to cut the grass along the lane by the side of our buildings. For various reasons I have been slipping and it looks really scruffy. If I don't do it today it will get too long for the mower, so then it will be strim it, then mow it, which is a lot more effort. Get that done and I can get on to some proper gardening. Have a good day everyone.
Morning all. Overcast currently, but the sun is forecast to appear before too long. It is not often I wish to be in England, but I really would have liked to be at the Elton concert today. With the limited numbers able to get tickets, it could have been possible for a modest fee to have streamed the event I would have thought. I rather doubt that had that been available it would have stopped people actually being there. Oh well, back to the veggie plot. Have a good day everyone.
