Morning all. Dry, but some cloud overhead. With some of the ash trees felled I now have much more light getting to my vegetable patch, and think it is worth expanding it now. What are currently two fenced off areas to keep the deer at bay could be turned into one larger plot, making the rotavator much easier to use. I see that many gardeners are already well prepared with the ground turned over and ready for planting. As usual I seem to be behind them in my planning.
Mrs Fez is having a biopsy of her own this afternoon, a growth where none should be. From GP to specialist to biopsy in less than four weeks including Xmas.
Morning all. Bright and sunny with some frost. Awaiting a package to arrive from the UK which appears to have reached the nearest town, but will it arrive here today? Considering the number of wood burners in France it is strange that you cannot easily find a flue damper in the stores. You can find them on line, but then see that they are imported from the UK, and the price is higher than ordering directly from there. If it does arrive today I will be taking the flue apart and fitting it, but if it doesn't I still have plenty to do.
Dunno about flue (sic), but I've picked up a horrid cold... feel like I've been run over by a truck... and the bloody thing reversed back over me. Just transferred from bed to sofa... hack, wheeze...
Could it just be the Brexit Blues? Lot of it about. I've had man flu for two weeks now - any sympathy for me dried up quicker than Success's goals.
La Poste lady drove straight past, so no flue damper. Two minutes later she came back with the package. So take away the ring holding up the flue, take the tubes away and see how much has come down the chimney. Thankfully not much, so carry on with drilling and fitting the damper. Perfect fit, so all put back together and ready to fire up the wood burner. Seems that I have managed to get soot in my hair, so a big clean up of me now, while Mme enjoys polishing her copper items that hang inside the traditional fireplaces that are common in these parts.
