Morning all from a misty, murky rural France. I am not one who believes that Sunday morning is the time to wash the car, needed or not, but since the car wash has been closed the mud that comes out of the fields has been sticking to mine, and it was looking in a sorry state. When sitting outside the medical centre where Mme has her physio sessions I noticed that all of the other cars were clean. A different department, a different region, and the car washes are open, so I now have a clean car once more. Have a good day everyone.
Morning all. A beautiful warm sunny day, but no internet again. Holes in roads, cables being taken into the little telephone exchange and now appearing in the library and media center. I do hope it is all worthwhile. Have a good day everyone.
Good evening...we are now traversing the North Sea...... bad weather again....a lady was medivacced off by an oil rig helicopter during the night after she fell..... today .seas so high that the muster stations alarm was set off.... luckily the Captain was able to override it....was...an interesting 2 minutes... everyone froze.........My first impulse was to 'dash' back to the cabin for some 'important' things... not permitted of course..... five minutes later the ship carried on with lunch... looking forward to terra very firma tomorrow
Morning all. It looks as though my internet might be off for some time. The latest is they hope to have it restored by Sunday evening.
¡¡Hola a tod@s!! Not much to report here, same old, same old. Still a bit of the rainy season lurking around, and I can feel autumn coming. Apart from that, roll on late November as off to the coast for 5 days, with 2 days out fishing. Hope everyone is good! Paz.
Having spent far too long trying to connect my computer to my phone via Bluetooth and WiFi, as a last effort I tried a cable. It works. Do I now spend £10 to watch Watford at Blackpool?
Morning all. A lovely sunny morning which lifts the spirits. There is a strike here of tanker drivers who deliver fuel to service stations. Despite the fuel companies making huge profits they are reluctant to pay the drivers more. So far most of the disruptions to supplies have been felt in the north of the country, but some areas further south are seeing stations without a full range of fuels. I am not panic buying, but will try and keep my tank full as I am doing a trip to the physio twice a week which is a round trip of 45 miles each time. Have a good day everyone.
Having suffered badly financially due to strike action in the past, I've never really supported such action - but there does come a time when it is necessary. With the way workers in various industries and their pays/conditions are being treated by both unscrupulous & uncaring employers and governments across the world, something has to be done, so I'm now supportive of them here. Talking or complaining gets nothing done so there's little option for many - other than 'civil disobedience'.
Morning all. Another lovely sunny morning, and there is no wind to turn the blades on the wind turbines. Our Parisian neighbours are back again to enjoy their family home. They have spent a small fortune on modernising and improving it since the parents who lived here full time passed away. Go past when it is dark and you find the shutters open, the lights on, and six of them are sat down to an evening meal. The enjoyment they are getting from the food and drink as well as being together is so obvious. Certainly meals in France are something to be savoured, and absolutely not rushed. Have a good day everyone.
