My kids are now grown up, so I no longer have to concern myself with this stuff, but many years ago my daughter made me take her to see her idol Lilly Allen (for her birthday). She was brilliant live, I was well impressed.

You've on several occaisions said you don't like much by Bowie after Ziggy Stardust, so your opinion on Blackstar is of no surprise.

Problem with that "if it wasn't Bowie" argument is that the album exists purely because of his impending death. Nobody else could've made it.

    It's all opinion regardless.

Which of the other albums nominated deserved it more than Bowie, then?

Based on those two warbling cockneys I know who I'd pick every time...

The one with talent. Bowie was incredible when I saw him on the reality tour and his new album shows how he could be original every time.
He did what he wanted, and it always had value.

Good to see UK grime finally getting national exposure and recognition.

Can't stand Williams but the missus likes him.

Not keen on Coldplay murdering George's song.

    Little Mix are great.

Better albums than Bowies but I get why it won.

It is true that I think that he never managed to better what he did with Ziggy (not that he didn't do anything decent after, just not anything better).

I've no idea what else was nominated, so I've no idea how it compared, I just didn't rate it.

I'm so disappointed I never had the chance to see him live. I was only 8/9 at the time of the Reality tour.

**** music existed in the 1960s and 1970s as well. **** music wasn't invented in the 2000s. I imagine WWII veterans thought some of the music their hippie kids listened to was ****e. If you think the latest generation has **** music taste, you aren't looking hard enough. Wytches are playing in Hull next Monday, I would imagine you'd like them.

Must admit I quite enjoyed the concert, good atmosphere, plenty of beer, and joining in the singing given I know all the ****ing words having had to listen to the music non stop for 2 years. Plus a lot of very fit milfs to look at.

What do you want him to do? Apologise or have her do that on his behalf?

Saw this while I was sat waiting in the takeaway... what were the text slides all about cutting through the performance??? Surely that wasn't intended???

I think they were trying to be ironic, the problem was I agreed with every word. The singer seems a **** but when your mum is Denise Welch what chance do you have?

a more pressing issue is why did Andrew Ridgeley look like George Aligiah?

The two venues they added have a combined capacity of under 30,000.

20,000 people are going to be very disappointed!

I think you're right, Bowie deserved it more than any of the others nominated. But I feel he was already picked as the winner and the other albums were just nominated to please certain people after the lack of diversity controversy last year.

There were some great albums by British artists that should have been nominated, although I doubt they'd have been bothered about a Brit nomination in the first place.

I agree that **** music has existed for as long as good music, and that there is some good music around now, but there definitely seems to be a higher proportion of **** music since 2000 than there was in the decades previous.
