we will see what RHC has to say about this cos he said his job was safe and i asked about what we are seeing right now....

Jurgen Klopp, is lined up somewhere... not sure where yet but its a big big club.

Rafa Benitez, inevitable link.

Frank de Boer. dodgy ****er. is touting himself and will use us to get a real move again i reckon.

Klopp, DeBoer, Emery, Garcia, Rafa - all are significant upgrades on Rodgers.

I didn't see the game but heard from a few mates that it looks like the team have lost confidence. Think Rodgers has lost the dressing room now.

Well the "Committee" wasted the money last season, not just Rodgers so if we get rid of Rodgers we get rid of all of them as well.

They brought in Can, Marko, Moreno, Sakho, Coutinho, Sturridge - all signed for good money (excl Marko) and amongst our best players.

Some can argue but Rodgers wanted Lovren, Lambert and Lallana. These are the signings that cost us because they were overpriced, had little impact, and for positions that simply did not strengthening. It was a massive waste of money.

The £50m we spent on Soton dross could have brought in 3 quality players in positions which needed sorting i.e. defence, DM, ST.

And again, some will point to Mario as a waste of money - £16m is not that bad but the lad has been playing as a lone striker in a system that simply does not work. Same with Marko. If Rodgers actually used these two properly, we could have seen much more out of them.

I don't entirely agree on the new manager front. I think Brod needs to be sat down and given a proposal; these are our terms, accept them or move on. Those terms need to include a DoF that's in charge of player recruitment (but would still need Brod's agreement for signings, no point in signing players that don't fit), an assistant that isn't just a yes man (total assumption here put the current guys not telling him he's being sentimental is he?) and a defensive coach (Brod needs to accept he needs help)

The only input Rodgers needs to have on the process is what position he needs strengthening.

The profile of the player should be consistent and DoF should be aware of that already.

I do agree with you Gez but I don't think Rodgers will accept it because of his ego. And even if he does, he'll only seek to alienate the players that are signed for him like we've seen with Sakho for example. He constantly chucks players under the bus if he doesn't like them, but will protect players like Lovren and Lallana.

I wish there was a chance of us getting Klopp. After the state of the Summer and the fact that City will probably opt for dropping Pelligrini there's next to no chance. Rodgers really has gone from hero to zero in the space of a season, he has been unlucky in some respects.

Suarez would help but bar scoring the actual goals, we've been creating chances all season. It's why I keep saying we need to sign at least one quality striker in the summer, preferably two. Attack, attack, attack!

Have we? We don't create that much mate - we've been extremely poor finishing chances but even worse creating them.

Our attacking play has been awful this season which dispels the myth that Rodgers is a good attacking coach (IMO).

I don't think he'd accept it either. When he joined us, he made it clear he refused to work with a DoF before being recruited and that FSG changed their approach to accommodate him.

I don't agree. We have been creating opportunities but with got the Arsenals; we keep trying to walk it in rather than shooting when the opportunity arises. Created chances aren't just missed shots.

Hmmm. I texted my mate last night who was at the match (unusual for him to cover an away game) and he was "too busy" to talk to me. I'm not sure what that means, but I'll call him at lunch time. He did say that if we lost every game between when I first posted about this and the end of the season, it would be a different story, so I really don't know after that ****ing **** last night and at the weekend. I doubt he's as 'safe' as he was.

Can your mate recommend Hull player(s) for us to buy. For the first time they beat us last year, and they repeated it this year again..<ale>

People were claiming that in November too

Who does your reporter mate speak to? Is it just Brod?

You lot should have a word with the Arsenal lot, they want someone with new ideas and you lot want someone with a clue as to what he is doing.
A swap could be of benefit to one of you <ok>

Only if they give us Wenger + £1 ;)

Imo, including last season where we finished 2nd, it's been the same pattern under BR each season:

Poor transfers -> Poor start -> Rodgers finds a way to get the best out of what he's got -> relatively good finish

We did have a good start last season results wise but in terms of performances rodgers didn't get the best out of the team until the 2nd half of the season, and if you think about it that cost us the league as much as Gerrard's slip.

Just because he's able to get the best out of what he's got doesn't mean that we should ignore the fact that we've had a bunch of underwhelmign transfer windows - the last one being the most enraging because it's one thing signing players that aren't good enough, but it's another thing altogether to sign players that don't fit into the style of play that makes your team successful. Whether you blame rodgers or the committee for that is another debate, but its clear that we don't have the pulling powetr to bring in better tranmsfers anyway even with CL football.
