Is it fair to say his first season was 'bad'? Every manager needs some time to develop a squad in his own vision surely?
This season has been poor for all sorts of reasons, some out of BR's control. I think he deserves another crack at it.

And yet if he was Everton manager he would be seen as being successful for the 3 of them.

How so? This season has been a total flop, even the end of season rally is not making up for our poor show in the league. However it will give the staff and squad confidence that we can perform and maybe we will actually start the season in August....not January<ok>

Since Moyes took over in 2003(?)up until this season under Martinez EFC have had one to 4 finish, a couple of 5th's and then its like snakes & ladders in terms of league finishes yet Moyesy was hailed a hero by blues fans for his league record.

Here you are talking about poor seasons under Rodgers when you know you'd love to be sitting in 5th after playing ****e for the last few games.<whistle>

  8. His first season with us saw us improve our league position. The second season saw us deny 99% of predictions by getting top four, never mind second. The only season that's been a real negative is this one.

About Moyes, look at the relative budgets comapred to the teams around us each year<ok> Also from nearly going into administration without the sale of Rooney<ok>

This season has been a flop as we have cash, not a lot....stability and a season previous where we performed to the level we know the squad is able to hit.

Injury to Daniel Sturridge has not been kind to Brendan Rodgers, judging him based on this season alone is going to be unfair.
Most people are of the opinion that we over achieved last year. Comparing our star* players with that of Manchester City, Manchester United
and Arsenal (of all these only city finished above us) I think Brendan lack of experience in big games has not been helpful. If Rafa was
the manager when we played United at home, I believe we are going to win that game.:emoticon-0152-heart

Sturridge has managed 20 goals in only one of his nine seasons as a professional. That includes League and Cup games. It's the rest of the dross Rodgers got in that is the problem.....Or the man himself

Its no good moaning about the money, EFC make a few bob and spend very little of it, ask Bill where it goes every season.

I am sure you have looked through the accounts and reviewed the P/L sheets. Under Marinez there is no excuse for our poor season.

Are we being to harsh on Brod, look how complimentary we are of Klopp who's had a disaster of a season and quit as soon as things got tough?

Dortmund 39 points for the season in an inferior league like.

Not doubting him, just saying both have had bad seasons yet only one gets credit for previousl good work, the other gets called lucky.

No one is saying Klopp got lucky with Lewandowski ect. Just saying.. But Brod "got lucky" with Suarez Studge ect

    Seems like hypocrisy

If we do get Stephen Merchant then his last season with Dortmund will be a concern but prior to this season he has been very good. The Office was brilliant but the quality has got worse since, there are still hardcore fans though.

Yes Klopp did well, but he had the players, he failed to replace them even with CL football. Then quit as soon as it got tough. He was never in danger of the sack.

    dual standards

Failure is more acceptable to Everton fans, they are happy with Martinez late rally, but Rodgers is a failure for a late rally it seems.

Martinez and Moyes can have bad seasons, even by Everton standards, but not Brod, cos he manages Liverpool.

To have the season we've had and still just have fallen short at the end, says a lot about van Gaal's season, yet he is immune from criticism.

Our last two games game 33 and game 34 have put us out of contention for CL spot. After such a mess, that wasn't bad. It is what it is, but given the total disaster this season, to only lose out now is worth mentioning. It also puts into context the season of the team above us. But they got CL so all is well. But that doesn't justify such a faulty analysis of Brod's season

    PJ doesn't get irony
