What a massive relief the transfer window has now closed without destabilizing offers/rumours for our better players.

There could easily have been PL approaches for Jansson and also big money offers for Phillips, Vieira, Ayling, O'Kane etc from other cash rich championship clubs. The fact these players were not distracted and are all on long term contracts is absolutely vital to the unity of the squad we have built.

The task for Victor and his team is now to be ready to replace or sign permanently the 3 loan signings we have. They are all good players who have come from higher leagues so we must be aware of the potential hole they will leave in the squad come next summer.

The deal to loan Lasogga from Hamburg seems attractive at first glance but actually I think it's a very shrewd move by Hamburg. They have now exposed him to the lucrative English market and if he does well will have offers in the region of £20m for him next summer. Therefore it's disappointing there is no option to buy similar to when Pontus signed. Obviously we need him to be banging in the goals but every time he does it becomes less likely he'll become our player. Also his own ambitions are likely to be more important than the teams so that's a potential disruptive factor if things are not as he would wish.

Time will tell but it would seem we need to get up this season. Our squad is the strongest it's been since relegation from the PL and we need to seize the opportunity which we now clearly have. The other teams in the championship are nothing special which means the top 2 is wide open and up for grabs. It will be tough as nobody gives you an inch in this league but it is most definitely possible.
Add to that, if we are short in any department in January, Rad will strengthen. Clearly has the resources. If we do lose anyone though, there is a wealth of talent across Europe and this summer has shown, many are willing to move to the Championship. Im glad, most of our fans seem to have gotten over their hangup about signing foreigners and only wanting British signings. Theyve seen the light

To be honest Eire I would rather we didn't make any additions to the squad in January.

Let's keep what we've got without any disruptions to the group as I think it just works better for moral and togetherness.

Jammy with tegard to Lassoga the initial deal talks between Orta & Hamburg were: Leeds take him on loan & can buy him in the Summer for £1.7m, Hamburg pick up 60% of his wages until the summer. That would save them £1.7m immediatley which they need. It also gets the player off the books in the summer plus £1.7m cash which is an immediate benefit in the summer of £5.1m

Not sure if anything changed?

Seems a good deal to me Doc - try before you buy - & it gives the opportunity to show what he can do in a different league

Unless maybe we got an unlucky run of injuries but I agree, we seem to have plenty of quality cover in all areas. I wonder if our German keeper picked up an injury, we might need cover there

Reports I read stated no option to buy, straight season long loan only.

Hopefully your version of events is the correct one.

He was better than Bates and GFH.Sorted their ****e before moving along.Rad wouldnt have bought us in the state we were in three years ago. Im convinced of that
<laugh>...........I tried to edit my original quote because I noticed there wasn't a T on the CAN........<doh>

Relax Eire I mis read Marcos's comment.........it's the weekend and I've not had a drop since Sun.........so I'm a bit giddy:grin:

Lasogga is £1.7m buy option end of season, or at any time during this season ... if Lasogga starts banging them in I don't think Leeds will hesitate to sign him up ... also, the future transfer wages will already have been agreed and will be dependent on Championship or Prem next season ... all good and positive, player can concentrate on getting the goals for us

Radz is God

If they are saving 1.7m from his 40% wages you are paying then they are paying in excess of 2.5m for their 60%, then you buy him for 1.7m makes them over 800k down <doh>
yea I can see that happening <laugh>

Pointless talking to a wally about money problems. Theyve never had any as they dont have to pay the players and they collect **** all off SKY or on the turnstiles. Turnover NIL, expenditure NIL

I'd say that he absolutely would have as he would have done due diligence and paid a lot less than Cellino did and would have more resources to sort out their crap. Instead he had to pay more to pay off not only GFH's debts and crap but also cover Cellino's crazy buying price.

The last 3 owners (before even starting on the ones before) have been terrible. Just absolutely ****ing terrible. Con man shysters with out a pot to piss in robbing the fans for their own gain with little interest in Leeds beyond a gamble at premiership but without the resources to do it.

None of them saved us, none of them advanced us, instead they took the largest one club city in the UK and left us to stagnate. They deserve no thanks, no recognition and no memories. Let Bates die counting his money in Monaco, GFH eventually get caught and jailed and Cellino snort his way through the accounts of some 2nd tier Italian team.

Whilst Leeds enjoy being a properly run club again.

If Radz has show us anything it's how easy it was to start to unlock the potential if you're a sensible businessman with resources.
