The Breakfast Debate

Good Morning Everyone,

Afternoon Elland. Quite agree that not having a midweek game is a bonus given our very busy start to the season. Should set us up nicely for Derby on Saturday. After last night it would be good to see Erwin get 20 mins to show what he can do as well

Quite frankly I'm relieved that we do not have a midweek game this week, and will be able to concentrate on our lunchtime kick off at Pride Park on Saturday.

It does not look good on the Fernando Forestieri transfer front. Rumour has it that a move to Leeds is not high on his priority; we'll have to wait and see.

Lewis Cook revealed that he learned a useful lesson following his sending off v Doncaster a few weeks back. "I got a bollocking but after that the manager was great with me."

Surely Cook will go straight back into the starting line up.

Who are our best 4 / 5 midfielders?

When was the last time we dominated a midfield?

Erwin, Cook and Murphy all played Sheffield United last night. The Whites ran out 2-1 victors, Erwin impressed a lot of people.

Dawson got some glowing reports from those who watched the u21 game, Sloth was poor by all accounts

I know a lot of people (myself included) wanted to see Sloth given a proper chance this year, but if he's being out-performed by Dawson (who must be 10th in the pecking order by now <doh> ) in the U21 games he doesn't really deserve it. He's supposed to be an international level midfielder. Rosler obviously isn't convinced by him either. Flog him now. As for Bellusci, I'd let him go too, providing we have someone else lined up. Don't think we need two new CBs to replace Bellusci just as long the one coming in is an excellent partner for Bamba.

On the subject of Sloth I'd give him a chance to break through if he's stll not made it by Xmas then we should can his ass and find somebody new

Maybe, but if they get big quids for stone,we should cash in,
Pity as one of our better homegrown players doesn't seem to fit in,
A lot of square peg stuff in the last year.

Only saw the second half last night, but Sloth looked out of his depth in the U21s and Dawson had little influence. Best midfielder was Murphy by a mile, craft and composure. I liked what I saw of Stokes when he came on, and Erwin can do a job for us up front, though he has a bit to learn.

Tell me I am wrong when it doesn't transpire.
They will rejig their defence and sign Byram as a right back.

Coleman is one of the best right backs in the prem. Just watching him against City you coulda seen that. Not saying they wouldn't be interested in Byram as a back-up to Coleman but not for 10m or whatever stupid fee we would demand. They could get cheaper back-up that'd probably be more reliable. If they sold Coleman I would understand them having interest in Byram but not from selling Stones

correct Doha .. the Cantona story is myth .. Wilko wanted money to use elsewhere and felt the "maverick" Cantona would be the easiest to sacrifice .. nothing to do with Lesley Ash or Chappers at all
