Good morning from a warm sunny Bardsey
The men are here to take out the cavity wall insulation which caused so much damp whilst it had been installed 2 years ago its not worth it and I have figures to prove it as well made no difference to my usage
Woods will be a great signing and the deal will not be affected by the dismissal Of Pearson
Lets hope we get Murphy now a player I have admired since last year and yes I did write to the manager about him if he had bought him then we could have got him for 200k as he was struggling to play in the team If any of our researches go to JA606 look under Leeds62 articles its entitled another Aldi Bargain as far as I'm aware I di not read it in the Sunday Sport etc
So with Murphy Wood Erwin we need to get rid of a few starting with Ajose not enough bottle for me froze when he should have scored against Boro Doukara such a big lad yet jumps 2 feet can't head a ball as I have mentioned to W.J.For such a big lad is easily robbed and pushed off the ball Sharpe will be used in swap deal with Murphy I would have thoughtor failing that Jamie Patterson from Forest who knows where the goals are
ByeBye Bianci I feel he will exit as soon as we get another replacement
The defence will remain the same with perhaps one proviso if Byram is sold which I think is inevitable the lad from Chesterfield whose name I can't spell looks a likely replacement to me Dakinawra or something close eh!
Pleased Barn door has fpound a new club and I wish him all the very best at Hartlepools
Finally Woods apparently has signed a 4 year deal and Brandon Baker from City a winger will sign later today all is good

another ALDI bargain

I watched the highlights of Sheffield U v Forest and I got that wow factor again from a player who had pace to burn reminded me of the great Ghento
of Real Madrid this is the type of player we need at ER not Cameron Stewart who quite frankly looks like a rabbit caught in a cars headlights his name is Jamie Murphy and at 24 is the right age for us
Its just another that should be snapped up as a really smart buy probably cost 200k with many years left in him he would bring ER alight with his pace lets get him in the close season
I have written to BM about him today so lets see what he thinks

I'd keep Ajose as a back up winger if we do manage to get Paterson, Murphy and Barker. There's no harm in have some back ups in the wings

If you can get Wood playing like he did for us when he scored 11 in 19 then you have a good player - but the reported £3M fee is far too much.
As you know, he turned our £12k per week offer down and accepted double those wages from Leicester - £24k per week is ok for a player that scores 20 in a season, but he has only ever done that once - since then he has only scored 1 goal in 7 Premiership starts, and 4 goals in his last 34 Championship starts. He has only scored one goal in his last 20 starts in all competitions.
Kenny Jackett pulled out of the race to sign him when he turned down their £20k per week offer - money talks!!

Its reported 2m going up to 3m if we get promotion.

2m does seem a little steep imo. but I don't think its too far above the current rate. A striker at the age of 23 who has already been scoring goals isn't a bad signing.

The reported £3 million is only the price with addons ie scores lots of goals, and if he does that we will have a £6 million pounds + player for our £3 million win win for us.
Dont worry about us though TC,worry about players not good enough for Gillingham being your big signings.<whistle>

I heard the same, surprised it is an undisclosed fee, I would have thought we would have liked to have bragged about how much we had spent.

I know you think I am negative but my doubts previous seasons have been justified when you look at our league position. If we get Liam Moore and Brandon Barker on season long lines then even I might start to believe top 6 <ok>

Erwin and Wood both look promising but they are wait and see players, both similar in stature so I wonder if Erwin is going to be used as a sub?
Celino spent the last 18 months to get rid of Glory, now he hasn't renewed his season ticket its onwards and upwards.

Lets not get too carried away guys. If we keep the same defence as has been mentioned on here and we have 2 new strikers that may play in a 3 up top and we get Murphy/Ajose where the hell are we gonna have some creativity and bite in midfield, it would be like watching Keegan's barcodes from years ago or Francis's Spurs with 5 strikers. We score 12 they get 11 stuff. No we need players for different systems and that means we need the Sloths, Our Murphy, Cook and Mowatt and another in there. We have to feed the strikers and we didn't do that last term.

Chesh - Chippy is teasing Cellino that is all. Always going to renew and thought he could play MC like he does 60 but, with respects to Mike, Cellino has Chippy in his pocket!!

I get what you are saying Doc and would love us to sign one of 60's wingers (Barker or Murphy) because it gives the width that we so desperately need at times but I do think there is a subtle extra with both Erwin and Wood. Maybe young, strong strikers will give opposition defences much more to think about that the likes of Sharp, Morrison & Doukarra. If they can pull defences around enough, even straighter more direct balls should result in a lot more balls coming back in and around the penalty area and Mowatt, for example, has shown that he is more than capable of scoring from there. I also have a nagging feeling that Murphy (Luke) might just be the player McDermott thought he was two years ago after his stronger finish to last season. I know not everyone likes him but I have always thought there is a player there - good control & vision and, when he plays well he looks to have time - a sign of a good player for me.

I would go along with all of that mate and have always thought Murphy was better than we've seen. Big club phobia I think but getting used to it and us fans now. Lets also not forget that Dawson looked like the dogs a couple of seasons ago but got injured and came back slowly last season in the development squad, but is now back and ready. Sloth could be the gem we need if he comes to the party and if the Italians are handled better they may also add steel and class we're looking for.

Too much fooking optimism from me ffs

I'm not sure Doc about Dawson just does not press my buttons now Sloth he could really come good this next seasonand have you suddenly realised what a good young squad we are de4veloping and NO BARTON please he would destroy the dressing room and in any case at 34 let him go to Watford

That was posted 17 feb last year and not found in any paper!

I wouldn't be surprised if Glory ends up at the Theatre of Dreams with Ellandback this year - he will love it too!!
