If we could get Murphy in and we do play 4-3-3 then you would hope at least one of the front men would hit 20-25 goals and the other two double figures, 10-12 each, that would give us 40-45 goals up front, it just depends then what the rest of the team do... I say it every year, in general you need to have a team capable of 70 goals for the play off places, I know there are exceptions, we were not too bad at the back conceding 61, if we can improve on that as well by say 5 goals less we are in with a shout so fingers crossed there are a couple more decent signings to follow
Can't make me mind up which of the Irish guys is pissed today Don't worry boys after Byram gets sold and Cooke gets sold and we bring in Bruce from Hull we'll be back to normal
I don't like to worry too much in tallying up the goalscorers within the team because you never really know where all the goals are gonna come from but you are definitely right that you need to be capable of scoring that many. My biggest concern and it has been since Snoddy left (well even before that) is our obvious lack of creativity. Its the most important part of the game imo. so signing proven goalscorers and poachers is all well and good but the goals need to be created from somewhere. We need to sign 2 quality wingers imo before we can even talk about promotion. Don't get me wrong though quite happy with this signing.
I've never actually rated Wood but still it's a good sign of ambition and I'm more than happy with that.
Great shout Bucks, he's ours and did well with Crewe last season and think he was probably the player of the year. Deserves a chance to show what he can do in pre season and if he's shyte he goes, but he might work. We have to get the ball into our strikers or we'll fire blanks all season again and having only 3 attempts on goal per game is garbage. We need to see fast, free flowing, expansive, skilfull, one touch footy ..... oh fook I had Barca in my head
Morning Shaks. Im being positive about the signings. Maybe its just me, but I dont see Byrams sale being a disaster if it did happen
I think he is more worth a look than the likes of Sharp, Morison and Doukara. Having said that I won't be happy going into the season with him as first choice
I actually wouldn't either. The way I see it is we'd get a lot of money for a player that hasn't really been that impressive for the last couple seasons. We have Wootton (who was playing there for the second half of last season, Berardi who wasn't too bad other than a few sending offs and Coyle who is coming through the academy. So we've got cover there and thats without thinking that we'd probably be looking at Darikwa from Chesterfield as well who sounds decent. Although I wouldn't mind if he did say as that would show intent.
Ajose got off to a flyer at Crewe but didn't he end up failing to score in the last 10 games and was even placed on the bench at the end? Could be wrong but thought I had read that somewhere
Good morning from a warm sunny Bardsey The men are here to take out the cavity wall insulation which caused so much damp whilst it had been installed 2 years ago its not worth it and I have figures to prove it as well made no difference to my usage Woods will be a great signing and the deal will not be affected by the dismissal Of Pearson Lets hope we get Murphy now a player I have admired since last year and yes I did write to the manager about him if he had bought him then we could have got him for 200k as he was struggling to play in the team If any of our researches go to JA606 look under Leeds62 articles its entitled another Aldi Bargain as far as I'm aware I di not read it in the Sunday Sport etc So with Murphy Wood Erwin we need to get rid of a few starting with Ajose not enough bottle for me froze when he should have scored against Boro Doukara such a big lad yet jumps 2 feet can't head a ball as I have mentioned to W.J.For such a big lad is easily robbed and pushed off the ball Sharpe will be used in swap deal with Murphy I would have thoughtor failing that Jamie Patterson from Forest who knows where the goals are ByeBye Bianci I feel he will exit as soon as we get another replacement The defence will remain the same with perhaps one proviso if Byram is sold which I think is inevitable the lad from Chesterfield whose name I can't spell looks a likely replacement to me Dakinawra or something close eh! Pleased Barn door has fpound a new club and I wish him all the very best at Hartlepools Finally Woods apparently has signed a 4 year deal and Brandon Baker from City a winger will sign later today all is good
ok where's the real Ristac gone,if you're going to hack his account at least try to find something negative to say.I've just renewed my gold membership after wood, they know how to take me for a ride every season.
If you can get Wood playing like he did for us when he scored 11 in 19 then you have a good player - but the reported £3M fee is far too much. As you know, he turned our £12k per week offer down and accepted double those wages from Leicester - £24k per week is ok for a player that scores 20 in a season, but he has only ever done that once - since then he has only scored 1 goal in 7 Premiership starts, and 4 goals in his last 34 Championship starts. He has only scored one goal in his last 20 starts in all competitions. Kenny Jackett pulled out of the race to sign him when he turned down their £20k per week offer - money talks!!
I know you think I am negative but my doubts previous seasons have been justified when you look at our league position. If we get Liam Moore and Brandon Barker on season long loans then even I might start to believe top 6 Erwin and Wood both look promising but they are wait and see players, both similar in stature so I wonder if Erwin is going to be used as a sub?
