Good Morning everyone,

Steve Thompson will be named at Redder's number two today

Leeds and Thompson have been in direct talks since Huddersfield Town revealed last week that they were willing to allow their first-team coach to move to Elland Road for no compensation.

The 50-year-old - formerly a team-mate of Redfearn’s at Bolton Wanderers - is expected to finalise his appointment in time to join United’s boss in the dug-out for Saturday’s game at Nottingham Forest.

Despite a transfer embargo, Nicola Salerno is confident of bringing Leonardo Pavoletti to Elland Road during the January transfer window.

Leeds are still permitted to sign players on loan and it is thought this is how they would acquire the Sassuolo forward.

Nicola Salerno, sporting director, told GianlucadiMarzio.com: "I've liked him for years, before I came to Leeds.

"He is liked by both me and the president (Massimo Cellino). With Sassuolo an agreement can be found easily. We have to understand what he wants to do."

Bellusci is still a doubt for Saturdays game with Forest, as is Austin.

To be honest, I think Austin has come to blows with Redfearn. I do not expect to see him in a Leeds shirt again.

If as expected Bellusci is ruled out, do we persist in Pearce. Maybe just pick somebody out of the crowd, and see how they get on?

Interesting times when we get a transfer embargo but can bring in a 24 goal striker. This kid looks like he can bang in goals and has a great reputation, and even scored his first Seria A goal last week, but he's peed off because he's been bench warming all season. In Seria B he scores 20 per season so good enough for us. Not sure that steve Thompson fill me with excitement, but we need someone.

I think we also find out today what MC's defence/appeal is based upon. can't wait for that because I expect Harvey to be made to look stupid

Morning Doc, best signing in the last couple of seasons could very well be Salerno.

Salerno seems very switched on and tuned into what looks good on a football pitch, he even reminds me of my favourite ice lolly Solero <laugh>

Morning all. Ive said that about Salerno many times. Wonder could he take over the club in Cellinos absence. He certainly trusts him big time. On the appointment of the number two, it has to be some help. Every club has them so Redders job cant have been easy, running first team solo and keeping an eye on academy as well

I wouldn't be surprised if Salerno takes the hot seat til March. Morning btw Eire

Good morning to Matt and cofrom a very dull Cote de Bardsey
I agree that Salerno has brought some good players to the club this 20 goal striker appeals to me because hes over 6 feet which will give us some options at corners and free kicks .In any case new signings will shut up Chippy and his the other gloomsters
We need to get a team who will fight away from home we know we can do it look at the result at Bournemouth this is the spirit we want

More then aything, we need someone that can hold the ball up, and be comfortable doing so.

Heskey is on trial with Bolton I think.

Someone like him or Deano
