I'm sure we'd replace him with another ex u21 international who has been plying his trade in serie b, or in the reserves in serie a. Not in the game I watched Eire they didn't, and they were soundly beaten by the mighty Costa Rica, who we held to a fighting draw!!! Hey we're rubbish, but at least we were there.... Albeit briefly.

There's no way we should let Smith leave. He's an exciting prospect, one for the future who's already started delivering. Look at the change in him over the last year - he's lost weight, gained stamina & speed (relatively), and improved technically. Even if he's not first choice, wouldn't you like to see him come off the bench for the last 20 mins when we're chasing a goal? I just can't see why it would be a good idea to let him go - in fact, he should be offered an extension to his current contract, which only has 12 months left. We don't pay him very much, and we'd get buttons from the likes of Millwall for him. Smith must stay!!
