Joyce is going to stop Takam soon, but he can't fight like this against someone better and younger. He's taking way too many big shots to the head and they'll put him down. Takam's about to run out of steam, though.
Haye was the best British cruiserweight of all time. He was a bit small at heavyweight but he still carried the power to hurt people. His body just gave up on him. At his best he was a world class boxer. Fury would toy with him now but that fight will never happen.
Never said he didn't have a massive ego. Just pointing out that at cruiserweight no other Brit could touch him. He pulled out of two Fury fights with injury. Would have been a good fight at the time. Haye is just trying to be relevant again but nobody will take him seriously. He should stick to exhibition matches. Him vs Holyfield would be good money.
They didn't fight at cruiserweight. Haye hadn't fought at cruiserweight for about 10 years when he fought Bellew. Haye retired after beating Chisora because of injuries. His comeback 4 years later was because of money issues. The two Bellew fights were just his pension fund. His body was ****ed in 2014 when he retired. Haye at Cruiserweight in the mid 2000's is the best British cruiserweight in history. I'm not even Haye's biggest fan. I just recognise what he achieved at Cruiser. I like Bellew. Met him a few times. He overachieved in his career given his skillset (something he even admits). He had plenty of guts and a big punch. He did well but he can't touch Haye's credentials at Cruiserweight.
The cruiserweight division wasn't exactly stacked with great fighter when Haye was around. Anyone good enough moved up a few pounds for the money
Which Haye did after he pretty much cleaned out the division. The Mormeck win in France was one of the great away performances by a British fighter at a time when Mormeck was the dominant force in that division. That gave Haye undisputed champion. 21 wins out of 22 with 20 KO's at crcruiserweight. Not bad. All the ranking lists have him top of the British lads. Some even have him second best of all time behind Holyfield. If you don't have him the best British Cruiserweight then you are in the minority. That's OK, you see the sport your own way.
Agree. I was responding to @Tobes regarding British cruiserweights. Nobody comes close to Haye. Closest is probably Johnny Nelson.
I think bellew was better.. Bellew was actually robbed vs cleveley and was giving uysk and good run fur his money after beating haye twice. It's one of them for me... Haye overrated and bellew underrated. Could bellew have beaten the tin cans haye fought? I think so.
I liked Valuev; he did well with what he had, especially considering he was so late into his life when he began training as a boxer
