He's quite versatile, he covered a decent amount of ground and he played some lovely passes to unlock the Chelsea defence. His best position is as an AM, but he's played wide for Norway and AZ on both sides. I think against Bournemouth he will do much better, it was always going to be a tough ask against Chelsea. As Clucas is playing the best football of his life, I wouldn't put him wide left as we need his industry. Mason is better than Thudd, so he gets the vote for me.

Mason isn't better than anyone based on his appearances to date. I'm not saying this to be controversial either - he's looked ****. Weak as piss, looks lost on the pitch, not tracking back, loses the ball all too easily. I'd rather have Huddlestone - much better player than Mason at the moment. He may take time to settle in - but I think he's looked hopeless so far. Scored a decent goal at Stoke, but that's not masking the rest of his deficiencies for me.

Why are you saying out and out forwards?
Because some posters are advocating playing two up front, specifically Hernandez and Mbokani who I consider out and out forwards in their best roles. And it's not something I agree with.

Please don't tell me what I can and can't post, there's a good chap.

So Leicester didnt play Vardy and Okazaki as forwards then? Or Ulloah and Vardy. Or Slimani and Vardy this season as forwards.
You've looked at Man City etc and made a bold statement. That i've shown to be wrong.
Dont carry it on you'll look like a ****.

Vardy doesn't play as an out and out striker. Aguero plays as a lone out and out striker. Any more you want to try? Ighalo and Deeney? Ibrahimovic and Rooney? Perez and Walcott?

Vokes and Gray is as near as you get to two properly up front. And they'll go down.

Why you feel it necessary to call me a **** is anyone's guess. I'm sure I'll survive the onslaught.

<laugh><laugh><laugh> I dont need to try any. I clearly stated the current Champions play with two forwards. Your reply should have been whoops forgot Leicester.
Instead your digging yourself deeper and deeper. Looking a bigger and bigger ****.

Hope this helps, First article that came up when i typed in Ranieri forwards.

Jamie Vardy plays at the head of the attack with Shinji Okazaki either just behind or alongside, giving him someone to bounce off and defences an extra man to deal with. Jamie Vardy and Shinji Okazaki are like the sugar-high energy drink version of Ian Wright and Dennis Bergkamp, or Michael Owen and Emile Heskey - one scores, the other creates. These two do it at full speed.

Okazaki has only scored five goals this season but supports Vardy by winning the ball high up the pitch and linking play. Like Heskey, he usually only scores when it matters, as he did to grab the winner in the 3-2 victory over Everton back in December, drifting into space behind a badly organised defence:

Vardy's a false 9. Drifts to the left win a lot. More of a winger than a striker. Okazaki drops off an creates, more of a Rooney.

Leicester don't play with any strikers.

Hi girls

Vardy and Okazaki certainly forwards ... only unorthodox thing they do is to run themselves into the ground harrying defenders ... worked like a dream last season...been tougher this ...but Vardy and Slimani certainly continuing in like vein ... :)

I'd play Hernandez on the left wing in place of Diomande, Dawson instead of Jake in defence, and Jake in midfield instead of Henriksen.

Don't think Diomande has played left wing as such. Like Snodgrass on the right, he has been playing support forward with instructions to get back and shield the full back when we don't have the ball. I reckon you are right that Hernandez could do that role - but I'd be concerned that he would be disciplined enough to do the defensive work. Maybe that's going to be less important against the teams we are playing in the coming games.

Yeah it's an interesting one, although I haven't noticed Diomande be that strong defensively except for the Chelsea game - Robertson has quite often been pretty exposed. I could be wrong but I have vague memories of Hernandez playing as that wide left striker before - although I could be mixing him up with N'Doye who I know definitely did at some points. It could be an interesting way to get Snodgrass and Hernandez both in the side along with Mbokani.

Still feel we should go with 352.

Marshall

Dawson McGuire Davies

Snodgrass Mason Livermore Clucas Robbo

Mbokani Hernandez.
That would be a good shout imho , but is Dawson ready to come straight in and last the game? If he's likely to only play 60 mins then I think we need to start with the formation we plan to finish with

I don't see the point in playing a 3 man middle of midfield, it isn't doing any good. We are still getting over run. Apart from the Burnley game, every game is a siege and with us having only 1 striker, we have nothing up front, no goal threat. I say play a 4.4.2. And keep the two up front all match. Get 2 banks of 4 and if we are under pressure just play a long ball to our 2 strikers.
