To be fair, we're talking about one of the biggest clubs in the World, Champions League ever-presents, hugely dominant force in English football, currently EPL Champions getting beaten, fairly comfortably, by both Everton and Newcastle. I have watched time and again the red tide come at not just Newcastle but other clubs. There was a time not so long ago when scoring against Man U would simply result in a 4 or 5-1 obliteration. It never happened Saturday, it was even easier than Everton had it. The quality of the leading pack is such that slip-ups are not going to be regularly seen so when you're talking about Man U finishing 6th or lower....it's kinda seismic.

Man U are like the krauts - - never write them off.
Having said that, they could actually miss out on Europe altogether this year. Arsenal are flying. Liverpool are having their best season in years. Man City and Chelsea are using their huge wealth to advantage.
Everton looks very serious this year. Spurs are trying to look serious.
That leaves a pack of chancers like Southampton, us and Man U hoping they can nab a spot somewhere.
What has been unusual is the limits to serious injuries; Man U have been the ones to suffer the most, with Rooney, RvP, Vidic, Ferdinand, Cleverley and Carrick missing stacks of games between them. So you can see why they've struggled so much, plus it's not as if Fergie left behind the greatest of squads. Moyes should be getting more out of Fellaini and Kagawa, but bear in mind that pretty much all the rest - including us - have been blessed with very few injuries to key players. However, when big players have been crocked - Kompany the biggest example, perhaps - then suspect results have followed.
This is where Everton, Southampton and us will struggle through Jan/Feb when it gets heavy and another cup comes into view. I mean, if we lose Remy....doesn't bear worth thinking about. Everton/Lukaku, Southampton/Lallana are similar stories. The problem for Man U has been in not having quality to come into the side; Man City and Chelsea can afford to loan players like Barry and Lukaku, yet still have more than enough to push on 3 or 4 cup fronts.
