If Bayern could keep a clean sheet, it isn't impossible. But keeping a clean sheet when you need to push forward and get atleast 3 yourselfs will be very difficult against Barca. If Barca get an away goal, it's tie over
Clean sheet! On a similiar line as my previous post this is as likely as my second threesome with Franziska Van Almsick and Gabrialla Sabatini. I think I am now giving my age, desires and predilictions away!!!
Big difference between Porto and Barca, but in view of that fantastic first 45 min a few weeks back, Bayern are capable of some brilliant stuff. Have to agree with Kenny though, it's a huge task. You never know though, and those 33-1 odds look nice.
Even a rabid(?) FC Bayern for the last nearly fifty years as myself would not waste his hard earned cash on this bet! You would be better popping down to your local Asda and buying yourself a dozen or so bottles of Erdinger Weissbier.

Kenny/ Swan/any others: I think you're beating yourselves up a bit here. The fact is that for 75 minutes there was no score, and Luis E (not the world's most imaginative manager, in my view) was beginning to look distinctly frayed at the edges. OK, BM were fortunate to survive the first fifteen minutes or so, and no, I don't expect them to turn it round next week either, but if Messi hadn't pulled two rabbits out of a hat it could be looking a lot different. If you accept that the third strike was directly attributable to BM hunting the away goal, and that Levandowski should certainly have put away the first-half chance, then there could have been more than a glimmer of light. Credit to Neymar for keeping his head with the third one, but apart from that I thought he looked very ordinary, and Suarez got through a lot of work without ever showing any real menace. Moving to Bleedin' Obvious 1.01, no side is going to resist Barca pressure indefinitely unless they have at least two good players to give them an out-option. Without Ribery or Robben, and with Leva understandably subdued, it wasn't going to happen. Good luck on Tuesday, but I'd guess this train has probably left. Maybe next year.
Yep, 0-1 to Augsburg. Bayern are turning out to be Augsburg's pet rabbits? The home side did look decidedly average today. Miracles do happen, I know, but it will take a right old Gottes Wunder on Tuesday for FCB to make the CL Final. Dunno about this "mighty Pep" fellow, personally I think he f**ks around far too much with the team, right from the start of his tenure. This, after the great squad Jupp Heynckes left him with after he retired at the end of Bayern's triumphant 2012/13 season. Why oh why Pep had to screw around with the ultimate in winning team formula is so strange. He can prove me wrong on Tuesday. I wish him luck.
Happy Birthday Jupp! So glad you retired when you did on such an incredibly high note. You have been able to enjoy your football in peace, watching your beloved Borussia Mönchengladbach (who did you proud on your birthday!), and others..............
Interesting stuff being offered up concerning Pep heading off to Man City. With Pellegrin not travelling too well and Pep having previous links to City man Begiristain, maybe there is a future for the Bayern man in England. As Guardiola usually works out his full contract and it seems Bayern still want him, 2016 might be more of the same for the German fan. What do these guys get paid anyway?
1/4 - Guardiola to Manchester City - when? 6/4 - Klopp as next FC Bayern manager - when? Klopp followed by Marco Reuss and Ilkay Gudongan plus Sergio Aguero(?). Tweets from Lotthar Matthaus and Dietmar Hamann suggest Pep move this summer however respected journalist, Guillem Balague, has rubished the reports.
Ancellotti to City, Klopp to PSG if he doesn't get Madrid (depends if Zidane is ready for the step up to first team management yet) Pep to City end of next season and in the interim someone like Rafa Benitez to take over.
Wherever Klopp goes his heart will always be with Borussia Dortmund. He is Dortmund. The top money will soothe things a bit, of course, but not all the way. When he resigned, I honestly thought he had already made some kind of handshake agreement with Man.City, but from reading the above comments, I guess I'm wrong. Would have lost if I'd had a bet then. I just could not imagine Klopp being Bayern's trainer; he really detests them, that's got to be a fact.
http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/32689282 So, that's that I guess? Pep stays at Bayern for next season. Who knows? Football is so full of bullshit that one doesn't know what to believe.
It's a strange old world in which we live Swanny. To get along with each other, we devise sets of ethics by which we try to abide, but that's not as easy as it sounds. We're often forced by circumstance to sell one ethic down the drain to support another. I would think one of the fundamental cornerstones of society is the trust in truth. We have to be able to depend on others who promise to live up to their oaths. If we take out a driver's licence, we promise to obey the road rules. We promise not to steal from each other and to at least try and place some kind of credence in the opinions of others. There is of course plenty of bullshit floating about out there, but we have to trust. If some unknown bloke says "**** mate, don't go in there, there's some turd with a knife looking for trouble." we take heed. These are the things that help bind us all together, but as you've hinted, sometimes truth can take a back seat. So much so that we often feel that we're up to our armpits in lies. And sadly, the media revels in it. The pursuit of truth is a basic tenet of journalism, it sounds noble doesn't it? Well in theory it is, but noble principles sometimes just don't cut it in the world as we know it. The media is notorious when it comes to sensationalism, it thrives on it. If it gets half a sniff of a story, be it true or false, they'll sometimes have no qualms when it comes to embellishment. I think it's commonly known as a beat up. It's probably not all their fault though. We tend to seek out this stuff. Society sucks up bullshit by the truck load, we just can't get enough of it. Of course there are many reasons why the media drops the ball. They have workers to pay, ads to sell etc, it all makes the world go round. But I can't help but feel that journos must sit back and have a good laugh at our expense. As long as we sit around in a gormless state, with our mouths wide open, they'll continue to shovel the the fecal matter town our throats. Oh I love this life, I wouldn't be dead for quids. P.S. Is that a gormless smile?
Lots of sound commonsense there, Cyc. There are three main tabloids in Germany (called the "Boulevardpresse"), led by "Bild", but, you know, they hardly compete with the likes of the U.K. tabloids in sensationalism. Almost "Comic Cuts" compared with the "Mirror" and the "Sun". Guess we're lucky in a way, although "Bild" can be quite ridiculous at times, to be truthful. The other two are relatively harmless. There are one or two different "smileys" on offer, the "goofy" one seems quite popular! ...
