If you've been watching Madrid all year you will know it most definitely will not be a thrashing. Indeed they might progress but it won't be pretty.
Jayzusss, Cyc, they're just games of football, not El Alamein, or Tobruk if you like. That Spanish onion seller really must have pissed you off some time ago? What on earth did he do? Erm, who the hell's Pogba?........... Come on Real, my old Los Galácticos! You can stuff these spaghetti bandits!
Paul Pogba. Juventus and France centre midfielder. Once of Man United. City want him now. He's tall, he's gangly and very much overrated too. Worth 15-20 million will be sold for 40. Agents gotta do what they gotta do. And before all the Pogba lovers come on...I mean overrated in terms of value, he's a good player. Just not worth the cash being talked off.
'Freed' by Ferguson! If now bought by PSG or EPL team the price would be about 60+ million euros. I agree with STH; worth about half that price. Pogba went missing in WC quarter final for france against Germany!
What a lad Carlton was ....................... King of the sliding tackle and wrapping a long leg around to get the ball. Had a ****ing work ethic too, not like the prima donnas these days. Love his Paddy Power ads too
Sure was. You surely had a life size poster on your bedroom wall Oddy in his Sheffield Wednesday day's?!!
Watched the Owls home and away in those days STH, great team and had some great days out. David Hirst was my favourite though - great legs from Carlton on the first goal here:
Sacre Dieu! Oh well, that's life, Real were certainly not at the races tonight. On to Berlin. Who's in the Final, can't remember....
Didn't see that happening. Not sure any PL club would be prepared to break the bank to get Bale back now, as his confidence looks on the floor. He reminds me of how Torres was
And another odds on shot bites the dust. By all that's been posted by me, it's plainly obvious that I know next to nothing about the game. So I thought I'd asked the faithful about Allegri as a manager. Although Juve are having a wonderful season at home, they came into the last 8 of this comp as bolters and have been outsiders in the semis as well. I suppose they'll be the lesser lights according to the bookies in the final as well. With Serie A in the bag, an upcoming final against Lazio in the Coppa Italia and the final against Barca, he has to be a man of great talent. He spoke well before and after the Real game and appears to have his head well screwed on in his thinking about the final. How do you guys rate him? The quotes below are lifted. "I have an extraordinary group of players," he told Sport Mediaset. "It was an impressive semi-final with chances for both sides, though we should've done more with our opportunities in the first half." "[But] we've earned our place in the final and now that we're there we hope to do well." "I knew the game would go like this tonight. I told the lads they needed courage and to play well technically." "Barcelona are an almost impossible side to play against, but it's one thing to face them over two legs and another in a one-off match. Anything can happen there." "We are in good physical shape, they have a stratospheric front three and we go to Berlin convinced we can bring home the trophy."
**** football, cricket, rugby, I'm fed-up, will leave it to Cyclonic111 to enjoy. I'm off to watch Ladies Beach Volleyball on a regular basis, who can blame me? http://www.rantsports.com/clubhouse...ach-volleyball-players-on-the-planet/#slide_1
It's nothing like Torres, he had more shots than anyone, covered more ground than all but one Madrid player. He works far too hard and there in lies the problem. Madrid play 4-3-3 with the ball and 4-4-2 without it meaning. Isco has to track left, James fill in the centre and Bale get out to the right to cover the fact that Ronaldo doesn't track back. Madrids problem is they lack a spoiler in the middle of the part, Kroos isn't that man, it works with Modric and Kroos as they are both super talented with the ball but as soon as you take one of them out of the team the other is completely over run. Think it is time to realise in big games you can't get Isco, James, Bale and Ronaldo in the same team. Barca get away with the three up top not working back as they have 3 out and out midfielders in there 4-3-3 formation.
Are we all making our judgements, whether we support or favour individual teams, based on relative success in the Champions League. As I have pointed out on another site (www.bayernzone.com) the CL is undoubtedly the most difficult football competition, club or international, to win. The tournament in it's current form is in its twenty third year. We have yet to see a club retaining the trophy. We have already had 14 different winners with the possibility of Juventus making this 15. Even in the last five years where it has become more difficult for 'outsiders' and I use this term advisedly there have been five different winners. To suggest that teams reaching the semi finals in the Champion's League have failed, whether they may be Bayern Munchen and Real Madrid, is ludicrous. All supporters of 'big' teams should solely lick their wounds and look forward to next year's competition! Finally, has a club who finished second in their qualifying group ever won the competition? This is the position with Juventus. Mia San Mia
Yes, of course. but I was just joshing. As a lifelong supporter of QPR I have other problems too. Will see the heed quack next week, I think..........
