We've had higher average attendances in the Championship than in the PL before now.
2010/11 Championship season - 21,168 average attendance
2016/17 Premier League season - 20,761 average attendance
The PL is not this be-all-end-all that everyone makes it out to be. The fact that the average attendance was already nearly 5k less in the PL than it was in our first stint already shows that the shine had worn off and that the Allams are very clearly pushing people away.
And the fans need to support the team in the ground, not currently, no matter who our owners are.
One last point - I’m involved in grass roots football. We have a group of up to 25. At least half of those used to turn up to training wearing a City (Hull) not Hunter kit.
A few were lost post relegation from the PL, but the majority were lost when concessions were removed and parents stopped taking them to matches.
What hair brained club charges kids a full adult ticket price? They have essentially lost a generation of supporters through this practice.
From 12-13 of 25 kids turning up in a City kit, it’s now 1 - my lad.

Absolutely spot on the kids and for a lifelong fans( as many of us are) the saddest thing about the chance lost to turn this area into a Hull City supporting mass.

I'm also involved as secretary of 6 junior teams in The Pock area. There was always more City shirts rather than Leeds, who are as accessible distance-wise.
Now apparently there are very few City shirts, they are Liverpool, Leeds, Barca. This all a result of the lack of concessions, as numbers going to City dropped off..

I would imagine the likes are for the comments calling out our owner for being a ****ebag.
The rules are rubbish and do no one any good except the elite clubs.
Odd that folks would rather defend footballs absolute ****e, corrupt governing bodies rather than agree with an anti-allam statement.
Personally think that there should be a wage cap at a % of your turnover. If you have larger crowds/better sponsorship deals/etc. then all power to you, you can spend more, but no club should be allowed to put themselves in danger of extinction by spending too much on player wages.
The only rigorous element then would be assessing that the sponsorships are from third parties.
If owners want to put their money into the club then, as now, it should be as equity not debt.

But our owners, hate them as much as you like, are playing by the rules as they are.
They’re not systematically stripping they’re selling to keep the club afloat.
