Fair enough, but that's not what I was replying to. He said it's about "where weather can determine an outcome". In which case I've seen goalkeepers score own goals because of very strong winds that have determined the match result.

But yeah, if you're saying a result can be partially determined by rain, then I get it.

I meant stopping the play altogether, if it's raining in football it's at least the same for both teams etc.

So then ToonArmy1892 was right cricket is the only sport in which rain decides the outcome of a sport.
 
It was decided by the rain as at the start of the competition the winner wasn't going to be who had the least shots after 3 rounds but who had the least shots after 4 rounds.

That's not the same as the rain deciding the outcome. Essentially the golfer with the least shots still won.
 
But that's like saying a football match abandoned at half time due to whatever is unaffected as the score at half time counted as the final score.

Not really they've completed 3 rounds... if one golfer is ahead , it rains and they call it a draw that's the only comparison.

An abandoned football match gets replayed, at the top level, even if it got abandoned in the 89th minute.
