I’ve got about 10 days of work left before I’m finished for the year so I can see there being a few late nights over Xmas.

There's a risk playing Wood and Stokes as part of a 4 man seam attack. That's why they'll go with Robinson, Woakes and Broad as well (IMHO) so Wood can be used in short, explosive spells and Stokes will only bowl if needed

Same. I finish up next Friday, so with the 2nd test being a day/nighter I can see a few early mornings

If he isn't fit then it's the right call, but agreed its a risk.

Need out bowlers to fire from the off and hopefully our batsmen can survive more than 2 balls without having a rush of ****e to the brain

BBC got some highlights on iplayer last minute from 5pm the next day and a wee round up show in the morning. Not sure about leaving Broad out but hey Broad and Anderson have toiled at times in Aus why no try a new approach rather than run those guys into the ground? History says we get beat anyway, lets roll the dice and have a good go? They'll both get their chance. Just need Hameed to channel the spirit of Cook, and Pope to mature, and we'll be looking a good team. Bring it on!!
 
Anderson would have thrived on this pitch!
