Winning in Australia has always been hard for England...whether it is the pitches, balls, or weather is inclear. Can accept that Australia can win in their own backyard, but England aren't even making a game of it. They have the talent to do that...time for the openers to stick in for a while. Winning a toss would be a start.
Hmmm I'm struggle to name a side. I'd be tempted to leave out Swann and with all pace. But it leaves us short in slips and most of catches will taken behind the wicket. I'd like Finn in, but I think our batting to weak to only go with 5 batsman.
I'm not sure who'll play here. Ballance has played for the Performance Squad over the last few days which suggests he won't be picked and a couple of journalists in Australia have described Finn as "unselectable" at this point so I'm not sure he'll get in either.
It sounds like this may be typical cricket though - the batsmen fail 3 times out of 4 so you drop half the bowlers!
I'll be getting up early tomorrow to watch the 2nd half of the day. Each day starts at 2:30am so the second session starts at just after 5. So I'll be getting up at 5 for the next few days.
Australia are just doing what England kept doing in the summer. Interestingly, TMS have just mentioned Anderson has 5 wickets at 50-odd so far this series and his bowling average since Trent Bridge (the first Ashes Test last summer) is 45!
