We won, played well today. What a summer it's been for cricket. England have some issues to sort out but it didn't detract from a great series, mainly because Aus have the same issues!
I shan't forget seeing Warner fail so magnificently for a long time. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

And there it is.

We finish the Ashes with a Desmond.

Everyone goes on about how we have loads of issues, but the Aussies have just as many. Without the cheating **** Smith, they'd be pretty ****ed.

Just watched the highlights and credit to them all for getting the win and drawing the series. Great to watch Broad bowling with the new ball at Warner, he really does have him on toast. It's a pity they are retaining the Ashes, but to get the draw is at least some consolation, and it at least took the shine off the Aussies achievement.

Always get the impression we get outsledged by the Aussies and that some of England's players are not mentally tough enough

The Aussies love to give it out but spit their dummies out when they get some back.

Michael Holding was absolutely scathing about their antics during our last tour down under. As soon as our lads sledged them they ran to the umpire and complained like a bunch of pansies.

Thinking the Aussies ‘outsledge’ anyone shows a lack of knowledge.

My favourite bit of sledging...

Not seen this, but heard the story told, not sure if it was an international or who the opponents were.
Shane Warne went into bat and as he arrived at the crease a close in fielder asked him why he was so fat, to which he replied every time I £**k your mum she gives me a biscuit.
Now if true, that’s a quality retort.

It was supposedly Eddo Brandes' retort to Glenn McGrath. McGrath is the epitome of the Australian cricketer who can dish it out but not take it, for what it's worth. Jimmy Ormond had the finest ever retort to Aussie sledging though.

McGrath once asked Ramnaresh Sarwan what Brian Lara’s dick tasted like.

When he replied’ I don’t know, ask your wife’ McGrath went ballistic and threatened to rip his throat out.

According to the Aussies Sarwan crossed the line( McGrath’s wife was seriously ill) but it was a six yard tap in. If McGrath hadn’t come out with the insults in the first place it wouldn’t have been said.
That’s the Aussies for you though, it has to be on their terms.

Only the Aussies know where the line is but rest assured they're always on the right side of it
