They were still dropping bombs on Coventry when the design was approved. It was a reminder for posterity.

I agree with both of those. And I would add Foakes for Bairstow, the latter looks completely shot at the moment.

Part of Coventry city centre was based on the plans turned down by Hull City Council for reconstruction after the war. Don’t think much of it though.

Coventry is European Capital Of Sport. A city whose football club is having to play in Birmingham. You couldn't
    make it up.

Yeah, the only thing with Bairstow is he has a fantastic habit of responding well when under the most pressure. I'd back him for a ton at Lords. They owe him that loyalty after ****ing him about with moving up and down the order.
Was thinking, he must have played getting on for 15 white ball games since his last 4/5 day game at any level prior to the Ireland game.

Yeah easy to forget we were still well on top after Day 3. The writing was already on the wall with Anderson out and It looking like a spin off between Moeen and Lyon.

Unsurprisingly Leach is in for Moeen and Jofra for Anderson for the 2nd test.

Great start, not. Jason Roy needs a slap.

I hope he proves me wrong, but I don't think test match cricket is his thing.

Umpiring's up to scratch so far, pity about England's batting.

Going for the ball that got him out might indicate that cricket in general isn't his thing - waving his bat at that particular ball was stupid in any format of the game; I'm with Plummy, he wants a slap for getting out like that.

Sam Curran must be thinking he'll get a game soon.

258 all out, could have been worse but for a spirited last 4 wickets. Need some wickets tonight though, if they end up 50/0 we're stuffed.

Australia's day I think. Archer looks dangerous when he's dangerous, if you know what I mean! Too many loose balls and balls which the batsman doesn't need to play.

Totally agree too many one day batsmen attempting to play test cricket.
