A few seem to focusing on 'murder', whilst gas-lighting on everything else.
I probably should have said 'attempted murder'. It's a well known fact that emergency response has improved markedly which has resulted in more saved.
I read a great article a week or two back explaining about how you would have this misleading headline figure shoved down your throats whilst conveniently ignoring mitigating reasons and also conveniently overlooking that crime is out of control. If I can find it again then I'll happily share it.
The following isn't from that article, but it is still 'the figures they don't want you to see'. In this case the Met's own statistics, in the period 2016 to 2025. And dont' forget, many have simply given up on reporting as they know there's little point. And then there's all the criminal gang, black economy stuff, tens of thousands (official estimates state that, but unofficial estimates say it could actually be in excess of 1 million) of people who have simply disappeared within the country up to **** knows what!!
Knife crime: +27%
Robbery: +57%
Theft from the person: +37%
Shoplifting: +109%
Sexual offences: +64%
Violence against the person: +26%
Total notifiable crime: +26%

Seems drug driving is more prevelant than drink driving in this area going by the percentages of those stopped being over the limit.

  1. The force said it has increased the number of roadside breath and drug tests. As well as this, officers are undertaking more vehicle checks in areas where collisions have previously occurred.
  2. Between December 1 and December 31, officers from the Roads Policing Unit carried out 1,458 breath tests. Officers also carried out 94 drug tests in this period.
  3. Across the force, through both these proactive operations and routine duties, officers arrested 89 people for drink driving and 66 for drug driving. 11 people were also arrested for failing to provide a specimen.
  4. Inspector John Rickells from the Roads Policing Unit said: “My officers will be out across the force area conducting roadside testing alongside their usual duties to ensure our roads remain safe for all motorists. The message is clear: any amount of drink or drugs affects your driving. It’s never worth the risk. Enforcement takes place all year round, not just during the festive season. If you are over the limit, you will be arrested, no excuses.”

Just read the last half dozen pages of this, a thread about infrastructure and suchlike in Hull and East Riding (albeit one with a title that is somewhat ambiguous).

**** me, if this doesn't meet the criteria for the Pointless Argument thread then I don't know what does.

Oh, except the responses to my post about an utterly brilliant new single by the greatest living rock icon, which were judged to be pointless.

Maybe? But if they were, then this drivel undoubtedly is.

There are no great living rock icons.

Taken direct from Twitter and fact checked on GBNews, so there.
"George Best primarily played as a winger (left or right), famous for his dazzling skill, pace, and goalscoring ability, but he could also operate as a centre-forward, second striker, or attacking midfielder, making him a versatile forward who was almost unstoppable at his peak for Manchester United and Northern Ireland"
p.s. my point was that he was known across the world as a WINGER, not an 'attacking midfielder' as was being suggested by Lambo
Sorry there's so much wrong with that first sentence....'direct from twitter' yeah OK such a reliable source and who the **** watches GBNews let alone have something fact checked by them

Who watches GB News? Quite a lot by all accounts.

As of late 2025 and early 2026,
GB News has overtaken established rivals to become the most-watched news channel in the UK by average viewership. While the BBC News channel and Sky News have higher total weekly reach, GB News has consistently beaten them in average daily, breakfast, and primetime viewing figures for several consecutive months.

Just because your little circle don’t doesn’t mean others don’t. I don’t watch any morning news programmes but don’t unlike some, think because I don’t do something nobody else does.

I think your last paragraph should start ‘She sells seashells…’

It’s surprising how many racist, flat-earther, scamdemics watch TV.

I prefer Channel 4 news myself.
