I find it bizarre that transfers get judged on the basis of how much we spend. It's almost as if we'd be happier if we'd paid £15m for Romeu and £25m for Clasie. I'd imagine the club are simply trying to find the best players available in the positions we need and then getting them for the best price they can.

Also, judged objectively we are as strong as we have ever been in terms of forwards: Pelle, Rodriguez, Mane, Long, Tadic ... and Juanmi too if he works out. I know most of these don't typically lead the line, but some of them can if they need to. Besides, Pelle is clearly RK's choice in that position and a natural athlete who doesn't seem to pick up any knocks. We are not going to spend serious money on another player for the handful of games we fancy trying something different or giving Pelle a rest.

Take six bog standard football fans, put them in a pub with a tab running and tell them to talk about who they'd like to see sign for or leave their teams.

This is essentially what you are listening to on Sky Sports News on deadline day (or any other day for that matter).

I've been paying £80-£100pm for Sky for as long as I can remember Beef. I just couldn't bring myself to start paying for BT too so thankfully, I'll be missing out on that. That said, it was on in the pub the other day before the Denmark Debacle and it seemed to be a carbon copy only with slightly different muppets spouting the drivel.

They are worse then Sky which I know is hard! Their pundits/ commentators are like a conference team to Sky's Championship/ Prem. You should phone up and try and get a few deals! I and LTL have.

Was that just to add the BT Sports channels to Sky? I haggle with Sky every year but didn't think to do the same with BT directly.

Martial deal has around £5m+ in add ons as well. He is a good player but no way worth that much at his stage of his career.

The top clubs (the ones with money coming out of their ears) pay a fortune for players, but still only have the same success strike rate as we do....except their mistakes are massively expensive. Why don't they buy promising players and actually work with them...this would work if their managers and training staff are as good as they should be. It seems to me they just buy 'names' without any idea if they will actually fit into their squads.

****.! And I question myself on how much I want to sit on my arse with just the licence fee to pay. Sky must love you.

Effectively, with their recent instability [ManU], the approach resembles a scatter gun. Look at Spurs. New manager every so often. They don't know whether they're coming or going, half the time. There's no cohesive method or system.
