No way Fonte is leaving anytime soon. But i wonder who would be made Captain if he did leave/suffered long term injury. So many of our players are either new or will be rotation players. Davis seems like the obvious answer but i don't think he'll be a regular starter for us so wouldn't really suit. Apart from that only Jay and Vic have been around for long enough to warrant it, and neither seem like captain material.
My vote would be for Vic anyway, just to see the expressions on the likes of Kevin Friend and co when he bears down on them with a bone to pick.

I don't think it has to be someone who has been here a long time. It is good to have a captain who is a natural leader on the pitch and, as you say, one who plays regularly.
Never mind the captaincy. If Fonte leaves, who will take the role of sex god. Nobody comes even close....Morgan was alright in a dull light if you just listened to him, but he's gone. There is nobody....a lust free desert awaits. 
I don't think Fonte is going anywhere but I would think Clasie would be a good shout for captain if he was.
