It's all a game... Liverpool have more money and expectation so will let players 'prove themselves' at Southampton rather than take the risk.... Clubs like Barca or Madrid let players do the same at Liverpool.
Don't think we should be wary of Clyne as he looks a good and very athletic/combative player (which we desperately need) but I do wonder why we continually buy players from 6-8th place clubs and moan when we finish there!
I don't want to patronise with the 'can he make the step up' sort of comments given Liverpool's current issues... but is he want we need? Will he grow?
EDIT: RB is definitely a priority for us... we will spend there. Reasonable money probably.

Now Saints are in Europe, the only reason a player would want to leave is for money or a Champions League club.

I think people are forgetting that most players are happy here and have no intention of leaving. In fact, I can think of no one making any noises, except Morgan and Nat (and the latter is more in the category of holding out on signing another contract). Toby is up in the air as it is out of his control. That's it...anyone know of anyone else.

His attitude was first rate before this season, I think he just needs a new challenge!

Mirallas would be absolutely amazing, but I doubt we could afford his wages. Plus bigger clubs than us will be in for him if he asks to leave. Yohann Cabaye is looking to leave PSG, and would also be absolutely amazing for us. But the same thing applies. I guess we can dream that Koeman and Europa League may tempt them?
