I'd probably take that, never thought we'd get Toby permanently and have been certain that the other 2 would leave so keeping Clyne would be a bonus.

I'd consider it a great summer if we kept Clyne as well as Jay Rod, fantastic if we signed Toby as well. But Toby is replaceable. We've got McCarthy from our academy, and there are good CB's out there.

I wouldn't totally rule Toby out just yet. It is unlikely, but remember he was never signing for us, just two days before he did in the summer. Koeman really wants him: Said at the press conference that was who he wanted at CB.

I don't know anything more than any of you guys, but Toby's situation is a bit different from the others as it all depends on Atletico.

I said a couple days back I was told it was 60% going 40% stay. Heard nothing since.

We need Cortese back so he can send his minions over to Madrid and threaten to break legs until they sell Toby to us. <laugh>

Still think if we don't keep Toby we should go for Schar.

    Pfft, that's an easy one.

Losing Toby would be a blow; getting Schar would be a coup. Convinced that he has a chance to be a world-class center back.

There must be something in the Van Dijk rumours. The last 3 windows he has been linked, and with Koeman here, the papers think he is keen. Could just be another Astori though I guess.

It has been reported recently that Atletico want to retain Toby. If they do I would say that the chances of us keeping him is 10%, because we might just decide to pass enough money AM's way. However, if AM stick with their agreement or will allow Toby to leave I would say we have a 90% chance of keeping him with us.

So in all honesty, I would say you are correct or it is 50/50.

I wouldn't just dismiss Toby as "replaceable"

He's the best CB I've seen in a Saints shirt for many years. For me he has helped bring Jose on a level too. It's not just about other CBs out there, it's about having the right personality, temperament, someone to fit in to our style, form the right partnership, play out from the back, cover other positions and I'd say Toby has been fantastic this season.

He's 26, Jose is 31 (?), so Toby can become our new and improved Jose over the next 4-5 years.

Right now I'd say he's not easily replaceable. If Toby stays I think that would be the number one bit of business for us.

Just look at Liverpool to see how difficult it can be to sign the right CB

Toby was always going to leave. The big question is "is he coming back?"

I'm not going to lose hope on this one just yet.
If he stays at Madrid then fair enough, but I will be disappointed if he goes to another club for around £15m

It would make me unconscionably sad to see either Toby or Morgan in a Spurs shirt *shudders*.

I don't know about Spurs. Would they pay enough for us to willingly allow Schneiderlin to leave and/or would it really be enough of a step up for him to push a move through? I mean, Arsenal or Man Utd, yeah I can see them spending the money or the lure of those clubs being enough for him to threaten all sorts. Even Liverpool I could get to some extent. Spurs though? Really?

    Oh. Yes I agree.

Not that it really means anything but my gut feeling for a while has been that he'll either go back to Madrid or stay with us.
