I blame the Wanyama link to Spurs on Toby for pointing out the obvious...that Saints has a better defensive shield than Spurs...similar to Lovren who pointed out that his problem at Liverpool was due to the fact that he wasn't expected to lead at Southampton. All these teams are finding that trying to buy Saints piecemeal isn't the answer....we are a unit.

We were a unit!

Spurs have a better side than us, we may have closed the gap significantly in recent times but they are still better.

Are the people you know in their early to mid 20s and earn thousands of pounds a week? London is the best place to live if you are young and have basically unlimited cash

Not if you're part of the little-known Howard's Way Re-enactment set, which I know Dani and Gaston are - that's why it is/was so hard to get rid of them.

Don't confuse it with Vic's membership of the Howard's End Appreciation Consortium.

You can never truly stop a player from going. We've put ourselves in a good position in terms of not needing to sell, and getting good prices for those that want away. But in the end, if Wanyama (or any other key player) really wants out badly enough, they'll get it.

In Wanyama's case, I think it is more driven by his agent than any real deep personal grievance. I'm optimistic we can keep him for another year, especially as if he plays well he could do better than Spurs. After this season, it seems likely he will leave. Maybe even in the winter. But as we have Romeu, Clasie and Reed we should be okay. We just need a bit more time for Romeu and Clasie to settle in (and get healthy) and for Reed to get some more games under his belt.

Can't see him going in the winter. Whatever he costs now, he'll cost more then, before going in the bargain bin post-season.

We're like Lego. We need to come with instructions. Now just need the global reach to match.
