Think we can trust "The Black Box" to find players that are suited to us. Cedric, Juanmi etc were players that were being monitored by bigger clubs, and most likely will be this season with us. Plus with the added games of Europe, and needing greater squad depth, we aren't going to bring in 8-9 players at £10 million a go.

Was about to say the same - we're clearly trying to broaden the depth of the squad, and have to prioritise that over a few pinnacle performers costing £15-20m.

I think Swansea's black box is working out better than ours at the moment!

Bony sold to buy (or had already been replaced with):
    Gomis (free)
    Montero (4m)
    Cork (3m)
    Naughton (5m)
    Ayew (free)
    Eder (5m)
    Sigurdsson (Davies)

    and a tidy 11m profit.

    Wonderful business

Whilst I agree with the value of players they are buying and the way the club is being run etc - worth poinitng out that both Gomis and Ayew had enormous signing on fees (£5m+) and big wages so 'free' not necessarily a fair one when looking at "profit". Showing too with players like Shelvey, Fabianski and Routledge that they have the ability and system to make previously mediocre players fulfill their potential and flourish (also similar track record with managers). Amazingly similar to us in many respects.

Fair point. We're definitely the 2 most admirable EPL clubs in my opinion. I actually thought they were better than us (and Lpool and Spurs) last season and we were lucky to finish above them...although I suppose the table never lies

Didn't Raheem Sterling say something similar just before he moved to City?

Balotelli being linked to Watford. That would top my "funniest transfers ever" list (just ahead of Ali Dia).
