On one of the Irish sites this morning, Thatcher dies of a strike <laugh>

I don't think it was an meant but it makes a good joke none the less.

Unfortunately the aristocracy are self preserving so anyone org or media outlet having a go will be making trouble for themselves, unless it was all of them. Besides them waiting for her to die to publish the truth, would rightly be seen as cowardice in the extreme, they should have outed her years ago when he left office.

I'm 51 and lived through Thatchers Rule.Just gonna say had a pact with me mate to meet in the pub within the hour of hearing about her death.Done and sorted.<cheers>

I said something similar on Facebook last night, comparing it to Savile's death as he was seen as a hero when he died too. Got a huge backlash from supposed friends and even some family. Left a bitter taste in my mouth how some people were quick to judge me on my views but openly saw her as a 'great' lady.

They're either ignorant of that facts due to age or were from an area that was untouched by her callous regime.

Deffo area and some age, they either lived in London or areas that had nothing to lose.

There's loads of stuff on FB about Savile and Thatcher both ****ing with miners <ok>

I live in a pit village and the response of most my ''friends'' on FB has been pure celebration.

As for privatisation, selling the family silver is an act of desperation, putting essential services in the hands of private profit seekers is an act of social vandalism.

Thank you saint. I believe nothing further needs to be said. As I said early on in this thread, Thatcher paved the way for Blair and for the complete blurring of political boundaries. I wish so much that John Smith had remained with us.

It is totally wrong to celebrate the passing of another human being & it is something I have never done & never will again - but I'm making an exception for Thatcher, as I always said I would.

Well, been off the drink for nearly two years, but I'm truly tempted tonight , and I hope the council will put some sort of party on in Liverpool, with top NW bands volunteering to play for free. I'm sure Elvis Costello, for one, would play, and the proceeds go to unemployed miners. One thing for sure though, \I for one won't be a ****ing hypocrite pretending it's bad news, any more than Republican Spaniards were supposed to pretend the death of Franco was a bad thing. **** her, her jackals in the press and slimebags like blair with his effusive fawning tonight.
