That's a bit hypocritical though isn't it ? I mean here people criticising thatcher for all the worlds ills, and being called an evil **** of a woman , yet when it's pointed out that Scargill was also a ****, the same as the unions you spit your dummy out!

In regards to that club you keep on about, is it a requirement to hear of this somewhere ? I don't read newspapers, especially as I said the gutter press. I don't see this club of people I've never heard of at all relevant to thatcher, the unions are relevant as she did her civic duty in breaking them.

You may not like her, in truth I didn't like her much either, but she did what she had to do at that time, breaking the il unions and helping to end the Cold War should be commended. The poll tax she should be condemned for.

Spit my dummy out? So it’s ok for you to put sly digs in is it? The very thing you had a tantrum about yesterday, you do today. That is hypocricy.

You are right that the majority of people on the forum were criticsisng Thatcher – and that very much reflects how she is regarded in this part of the country.

Regarding the Bullingdon Club that is a starting point for your understanding of who runs Britain and if you haven’t heard of it then, yes, that does leave a large gap in your political knowldge. Your very own comment “I don't see this club of people I've never heard of at all relevant to Thatcher” confirms that.

Did Margaret Thatcher have a civic right to break a trade union. Not by using the countries police force (backed up by the military) to beat up pickets she didn’t.

It has come to my attention that you buggers have sneakily occupied Anglesey ... I should just point out that its' proximity to your mainland is an absurd basis for a claim to sovereignty and me and the rest of the Eskimos are on our way to reclaim it ... we've had an Iceland there for a very long time and the majority of the islanders speak inuit (admitedly when they're pissed) ...

... when you can't even agree to disagree there is only one solution ............... a nice bowl of sherry trifle.

OH MY GOD !! ....Still with the Thatcher bollocks ?? look guys, none of you (me included)have the faintest idea of what really goes on in the world, as much as we all like to think we do! Politics is but a side show and nothing more, not worth gtting all worked up over is it.

The real issues are always hidden from Joe Blogs and never see the light of Day.

Take whatever you think you know, throw it out the window, take the most impractical reasons and divide that by a factor of 3 and then your close to finding out about how it all really works!!

Thatcher,Blair, wilson, major,Brown etc are all just a side show to the main event.

The only person that seems to have twigged that on here is Dragon...i bet he is one of those doomsday prepper types too ..<laugh>

Whatever floats your boat of course but surely we all understand that this is a topic without any form of right or wrong just a load of people just pissing in the wind <cheers>

Why is this club of any significance ? I look forward to your explanation as to why it has bearing. Are you in the picture by the way? You seem to know the workings of it.

And I think she did have a civic duty to do just that. Did for example Tony Blair have justification to go into Iraq ? I mean its been proved that no weapons of mass destruction were there. What about Afghanistan going after bin laden there and he was in Pakistan .

I just think that if you are going to pick holes in what she did, you should go after what has happened since. I mean what about black Wednesday under major, or the vat rise under Cameron , lots to get your teeth into from various governments.

That statement is not true norway....the only things we dont know are in the top secret files and are discussed behind closed doors between MP's in the need to know basis. we get to read this info 30 years later or in some special cases 100 years later. All other debates are openly discussed for all to hear.......also actions by the government are also there to see and witness.......

If you can't be bothered to read what's put in front of you I am not going to spoon feed you. As they say, ignorance is bliss.

Still going on I'm impressed.
PGF, I'm in Blackpool and been in the hotel bar since 2pm and I got the tits ready :D

Dai, been spot on with all your post son this thread mate

Thatcher was a very dangerous person and if you have been listening on the tribute debate for her in parliament then you will soon see that even her own mp's were afraid of her and would not contradict her for fear of the sack. She was notorious for interfering in her own cabinets open discussions and if she did not agree but the majority did then she always got her way. She was a very dangerous individual who had all the power and she revelled in it....The queen loathed her in reality and so did many of her back benches and a few on the front bench too,
the Falklands was a disaster but an opportunity to boost her flagging popularity and she took it with both hands. It was suppose to be a campaign and a show of strength and not a all out war, she and she alone started the war with the sinking of the general belgrano knowing as she was told that the ship had turned around and was on its way back to Argentina...she knew perfectly well that there was no need to sink it and in doing so needlessly murdered hundreds of Argentinians..
This action turned this A campaign into a full blown war and nobody can blame the Argentinians for that...A war crime was committed....
She became such a tyrant who thought she was more important than the queen and it was her own prominent front bench mp's who plotted and finally ended her reign.......She was even too dangerous for even them in the end....
but like all good parties they would not and still will not say bad things about her and i can understand that. she was a true blue girl that rose through her working class upbringing to go on and marry a multi millionaire that introduced her to the finer things in life and she loved it so much she became one of the most famous Tory of all time forgetting where she came from and demonstrated the saying "I'm alright Jack" and hated the working class as it brought too many bad memories for her.....
She believed in everything she said and did and even though her ideals and vision were needed she did it far to quick and because of this she ruined a lot of peoples lives and that made her one of the most hated woman in the UK....she had good intentions but rubbed everybody up the wrong way with the way she implicated her actions by not caring who she hurt to get things done as quickly as possible........

My own view is she was a brilliant polictition with some great ideas and would make a great front bench minister and not the top dog as prime minister...she needed a more level headed leader to do things more slowly and with more compassion towards people and situations....

If you've been in the bar since 2 then I wonder whats the odds you'll be wearing them on your head by midnight <whistle>

Dai the argentines invaded the Falklands , they started it, we as a country responded to the aggression. The only crimes were ones Galtieri did under his own regime, he was responsible for crimes against his own people.

Yes thatcher got reelected after, but to say that she was responsible for the actions of that dictator is stupid, she reacted on the advice of her own advisers.
