1% of TU representatives are paid...the other 99% are reps in their own fields who are volunteers. They make themselves known to their respective work force as to who they are. the 1% are the leaders who delegate with the government and attend meetings, they are the only ones who get paid as that is their only job....somebody has to be in that position and its a hard job to do but a necessary job...
My diatribe against someone who has just died is sickening? I have made no personal attacks against Margaret Thatcher. I have purely discussed her politics, just as the politicians are doing in Westminster. If you find that sickening then thats your problem.
I know what I'll do if this carries on much longer. I was clean shaven when this started How the fcuk anyone from this neck of the woods can defend that evil cnut is beyond me. She supported apartheid, backed other tyrants in power and started a war to win an election. It wouldn't even enter any decent human beings mind to do that. As for the torys well Wales could sink into the Irish Sea and they wouldn't give a toss.
I think he's referring to the Falklands war Ivor, though my recollection is that Argentina invaded the Falklands, maybe he's had a few beers................
Jager I'm all for helping my fellow man, so here is all the info on the Bullingdon Club!................. Link: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...don-Club-newly-discovered-photo-But-they.html
And if you find my stance on unions wrong, then that is your problem not mine, I maintain every single word about them, and the politicians in general.
That is fine. But as long as you paint a one sided picture of history "and wouldn't take crap from scumbags like scargill and the unions who tried to run this country. They were responsible for a lot of the crap that was happening back then" then I will paint the other side of the story about the boys in the Bullingdon Club - which you had never even heard of!
Lol. This still going on? Couple of corrections though - just to accurately set the historical record straight: "She supported apartheid...." She didn't actually. She urged De Klerk to introduce reforms that lead to the end of apartheid. She was always opposed to it. Her mistake perhaps was being too softly softly whilst others were more strident. "...backed other tyrants in power..." Not sure what this refers to but we vigorously supported Gaddaffi & Saddam in our time and we're currently supporting the opposition in Syria who are openly allied to Al Qaeda. International politics is a tricky business. "...and started a war to win an election" Need I bother? Interesting to see John Lydon (Johnny Rotten) saying that those people celebrating the death of an 87 year old were 'loathsome'. Not because he agreed with her politics because we all know he didn't but because unlike others he's a decent soul after all. From punk to establishment. Enjoyed the debate though.
..............Has anyone ever told you, you are very unyielding? And it's bloody irritating on times, the picture is not the Mail's............
That's a bit hypocritical though isn't it ? I mean here people criticising thatcher for all the worlds ills, and being called an evil **** of a woman , yet when it's pointed out that Scargill was also a ****, the same as the unions you spit your dummy out! In regards to that club you keep on about, is it a requirement to hear of this somewhere ? I don't read newspapers, especially as I said the gutter press. I don't see this club of people I've never heard of at all relevant to thatcher, the unions are relevant as she did her civic duty in breaking them. You may not like her, in truth I didn't like her much either, but she did what she had to do at that time, breaking the il unions and helping to end the Cold War should be commended. The poll tax she should be condemned for.
I drink green tea every evening and get my cranberry juice in the morning with my muesli, it sets me up for the day, I recommend it lol
