the company tied the clubs to a contract back in the 2000's as they got financial incentives for choosing them which at the time AP was more than happy to take .. the new design they were given 3 choices of which this was the best one (each club could pick its own) but its such a disaster that they are as angry as you guys .. believe me

regardless as the website will still be there as will the guys who are having to work "with" it when it is so unworkable at the back end to produce stories pictures etc ... I feel for them having heard a snippet of what they have to go through . as an IT guy its unworkable IMO

Just to add to that. It was a Football League Interactive collective contract, and it was Perform (then Premium TV) taking advantage of clubs being desperate for money with the loss of ITV Digital income to tie us all into long deals. The alternative facing us was to say no and watch a lot of clubs all end up in severe financial difficulties trough no fault of their own.

It's a ****ing miracle we had a choice of 3 websites though. The last time they had an update rolling out I had access to the admin forum at Perform and everyone was complaining that it was **** and being forced on them, and that was the ones that were being used in the first phase.
