Real shame. He always came across as a people person and a genuinely nice guy. The plot thickens.
 
The timing is before yesterday's 'tea cup' storm. Just a coincidence imo, like Blue I don't know what this actually means from a club point of view.

It only says he is no longer a director therefore he can still be/is Chairman. I wonder if this is to do with the behind the scenes negoititations on the Langstone debt?
 
Whatever it means and until we know more we can only take it at face value, without considering "smoke and mirrors".

However, this and yesterday's statement and retraction can do us no good at this crucial time of the season. Just when we should all be pulling together for "the final push" we get nothing but negative press and more hornets' nests stirred up amongst the fans.

I just hope the team can be sheltered from all this and get on and win at Boro tomorrow. A win is the one thing to deflect interest from everything else going on.
 
aslong as malky is fine with the goings on at our club then thats good enough for me>>>>>>....if he fks off then u know its a moral issue he cant be dealing with and ive no doubt he will say it as it is,so we all know where we stand........trust in malky and the boys will carry on doing the biz on the pitch,and lets be honest thats what football is all about yeah the "game" on the field.................<ok>

Directorship of a club is just a revolving door for some - Steve Borley a noteable exception. As long as Malky sticks with it and gets the boys on the pitch in the right frame of mind, I couldn't care less - as nice as TG seemed as a bloke. <ok>
 
i thought he had left ages ago, anyway people come and go in a football club and thanks for his efforts <ok>
 
Swampy - unless I've missed him, I haven't noticed TG at the CCS for ages now. VT seems to be there with his son and family, but I've not spotted TG.

This could have been brewing for a long time and has only been announced now. The reason behind it could well be a little bit more involved than the "leaving to pursue other business interests" that's been quoted. That's typical publicity speak for general consumption when a director resigns.

Whatever, we play Middlesbrough tomorrow - I'm far more concerned with that until we hear anything different.

TG was an influence on us over the passed few years. It was he who convinced Vincent Tan to invest and, I believe, it was he who encourage Tan to take a more 'hands-on' approach to the football club. He should be missed but has he been missed so far this season?

All that matters is the Malky & the players take care of playing matters. Then; if VT and his team take care of other matters things will move on without hindrance.

3 points tomorrow will re-focus our minds.
 
I'm. gonna say what you're thinking but won't say...he was better looking than the other guy we're left with, but Hi-yo folks we're going up!.

I think we have taken this quite well TBH. To me it seems rather strange that he resigns now. I wonder if he is avoiding a storm that is brewing.

But anyhow, the pitch is the most important focus today :)
 
Has he had a fall out with Tan over the direction Tan is taking things?

TG always seemed to enjoy his football. With the dream he had at the start now within touching distance, it seems an odd time to leave.

He always came across as an honest type and interviewed very well. TBH he steered us through a rocky time and he as much as anyone would have deserved to take the plaudits walking around the pitch in front of the fans with promotions secure (not that it is nailed on and things could go horribly wrong).
 
Like I said earlier remote, I doubt it's as simple as the club statement makes out. Why right now?

You'd have thought another 8 weeks would have made no difference to his decision - if that's what it really was.

He could have stayed and taken his share of the glory (hopefully!) and gone off to do his own thing afterwards.
