That will be a long time away, winning a race is comparable to us winning a league. Ive followed them and they are still the best of the new teams and were 5 seconds a lap slower than the old teams, now they are quicker than Torro Rosso. Its slow but steady progress, next step is to secure a point.
Tony Fernandes ‏@tonyfernandes Stadium will be in west london. Will not lose overall atmosphere. Lots to do and many pitfalls but great first step
I have to say this tweet makes me a little nervous, sounds like we're moving away from the Bush. And the comment about 'Overall atmosphere', what does that mean?
About all it can in 140 characters.......I read it the exact opposite, West London is not Hounslow, Hillingdon or Uxbridge, it'll be W something, hopefully W12, and the atmosphere stuff means he's got the message on that. We'll see, but what a man. Liverpool have been dicking around on a stadium for 10 years, Spuds, Chelsea and Wet Spam can't sort themselves out, takes Tone 10 months ( allegedly).
Why would it make you nervous? As long as the club is still in West London.....it doesnt have to be in W12.....The Club is evolving and if that means we have to compromise, then so be it! How many QPR fans actually live in Sheperds Bush?? Not many I'd say!
OMG, I am loving it. In 38 years of seeing QPR, I have not felt like this since the 1975/76 season. I have always wanted a new stadium. I may make the 8 hour round trip to the home games if I can sit without a post in my way and my knees upto my chin (not that my chin hangs down too low). After all the ****e years, we have real excitement to look forward to now. I am very very happy and I love TF and Amit.......now let's actually win something!!!!
Someone pinch me so I wake up!!! Is this really happening to our little ole club? I've been going to Loftus Road for 48 years and I absolutely love the place, theres no better football ground anaywhere as far as I'm concerned. So to move to a new stadium will bring sadness as well as joy for me, but it is obvious that the club cannot survive long term in the top flight with only 18,000 seats. Bring it on!!!!!!
I am sure I dont need to show them how to suck eggs but I hope they get an accoustics specialist involved in the design. At LR the noise must have an unsettling effect on opposing teams especially as the front row almost shout in their ears. We must have some of the noisiest fans because even in the away games I watch on the net is all you can hear is 'the faithful'. It certainly seems we are going places. Exciting times for us all and especially those who can get to matches.
I thought the same thing, Id even put in a sound dampening substance in the roof of the away end. We also need a way of having a designated home end with the hardcore and singers behind one goal. Not have a free for all and end up with everyone scattered around the ground which worsens the atmosphere. Having people start a song in the corner means it doesnt spread.
Cripers! I'm getting seriously excited now. This stuff is really happening to our club. Incredible, especially during the current climate with so many other clubs struggling financially.
The day I sit in my new seat, in a new stadium, watching a new QPR will be a very surreal day indeed....
Dear Tony, Please find enclosed herewith my life partner who wants to have your babies. OK, she is a bit past it but its the best I can do to show my appreciation for now.
The Air Asia Alan MacDonald Stadium? As far as getting the noise in te right place, how about having blocks M, O, Q, P and R behind one goal? That way we'd have a good chunk of the Loft and the most consistent singers in one area!
Nines, I really am lost for words with whats happening at our club. When we think back to what we've been through I guess our luck had to change at some point. But I still struggle to believe its happening to us!!!
