Anyone absolving the players from any blame for the second half of the season debacle needs their bumps read. I try to never single out players and coaches for criticism but, McCann leaves himself wide open with him 'seemingly' late and more than often not his like for like substitutions, his reluctance to change shape - my old boss used to quote ''if you keep doing what you're doing, you'll keep getting what you're getting'' - a suitable mantra for the Allams and coaching staff to ponder perhaps? However, whatever McCann's shortcomings, NOTHING can excuse some of the abject, bone idle and 'couldn't give a ****' performances of certain members of the squad - being poorly coached (if that's the case) cannot be used as an excuse to stroll about the pitch, not put in a tackle, not track back or not complete a five yard pass - that shows is zero pride in your own performance. Too many are not fit to wear the shirt, and that's not McCann's fault.
Who exactly are these 'certain members of the squad' (who are bone idle, couldn't give a ****, stroll about ...)?
We can take it there's a few as you say 'certain members of' and it wasn't just the 45 mins v Wigan as you say 'performances'.
I can't think of many where effort was really the problem. Ability, yes. Tactics / formation, yes. Lack of leadership & direction, yes.
Anyway, who?
Let's see if we can get agreement. Could be interesting ......

It's the fault of the Allams. I'm shocked as to why any Hull City fan is surprised where we are now. Most of us knew this where we were heading. I really don't want to say I told you so, but ****ing hell, it's been predicted by many on here so many times over the last few years, so why the big hoo-ha now?
Of course McCann is accountable for their performances, but they are responsible, and there is a huge difference between the two.
Whether McCann is your manager or Warnock, you should give your all every single game. They are paid by Hull City to play for Hull City to the best of their ability. They are not paid by Hull City to hope a manager can motivate them, the fact they are getting paid to be a professional footballer should be more than enough. Saying the players aren't to blame is illogical.
McCann is as well to blame, and of course he needs to leave. But sacking him isn't not suddenly going to solve all of our problems, it solves one of the many many problems we have.
Hmmn. The only player I've ever bad mouthed and named on here was Elmo, when he acted like a ****ing fanny to let Rooney outmuscle him on the touchline to set up their 90th minute winning goal. If you can't see lack of effort then there's no point in the debate - my final word on the subject, when ex players like Ashbee and Meyler openly state that the players aren't totally blameless I'm happy with my opinion.
We'll be demoted from here shortly too!!!!!**** we doin' in League 1?

Hmmn.
So it's ok to call them out, and in no uncertain terms, but not to say who you mean?
Of course the players arent totally blameless, but thats not what you were saying. You absolutely slated them.
It's s genuine question, and one posed to others earlier. Why can't people say who they are, and arent, talking about. If we have players that are seen as bone idle and cant give a ****, surely they deserve calling out on here? I don't see that in any of them, so really interested to hear who these players are.
I seem to remember in one of the interviews Ehab did (either the club one or with RH) where he was talking about relegation and noted that it actually cost Bolton a lot more when they stayed up on that final day, so however stupid it sounds I don’t think the club were arsed on staying up or not.
People can stick up for McCann all they like but ultimately he knew what he was coming into, he has made some decent Championship players who looked good under Adkins now look ****e (Burke, De Wijs etc) and been too stubborn to change anything so on the pitch it is his responsibility as to why we have been relegated.
Ehab blatantly wasn't arsed.
I'm thinking he possibly feels that covid will be a watershed and a lot of clubs will struggle as a result. He may also feel that football at the higher levels is unsustainable and there'll have to be a natural correction resulting in a more even financial playing field and he may have a point.
However; The gutless surrender, the sheer profligacy in spaffing our post PL financial advantage up the wall and the pure arrogance of a clearly failing leadership is unforgiveable in any circumstance.
They've literally lost millions for the sake of a few thousand, penny pinching time and time over since 2016/17 to the point it simply beggars belief.
Whatever he feels his justification may be, we'd still be in a stronger position in the championship, and if not for unnecessary arrogance and utter complacency in the second half of the season then we'd still be there.
